Do not stay at this hotel/hostal. I only gave 1 star because I could not post w/o at least 1 star. I made a reservation for July 11-12 as a quick overnight from my arriving evening flight and then departing flight early the next morning. Sí hablo espa;nol, entonces no había problema con el lenguaje. First, it was nearly impossible to make arrangements for a taxi pick-up from airport; they wanted me to pay upfront with my credit card over email - uh, no. Finally they agreed to meet me and let me pay later, but no one was at the airport to pick me up. The taxi driver that I did get had trouble finding the "hotel" and was hesitant to drop me off because of the neighborhood; he offered to come back to pick me up for my flight out so that I wouldn't have to come out to the street to wait for a taxi. When I entered the "hotel" which the sign calls a hostal, it was definitely low rent, but what do you expect for $27? The desk clerk could not find my reservation and held my passport for what I consider to be too long. Eventually I was put on the phone to talk with someone about the confusion over my reservation. There was no elevator, so someone carried my heavy suitcase to the 3rd floor where I shown a room that was not the one I reserved. I finally convinced them them that I did have a reservation for a specific room with a jacuzzi tub; however, while I was waiting for the room change, confirmation of the reservation and copying of my passport, I could hear people having sex. I also noticed women entering the hotel with wet hair and men on their arms. My room had a sign on the door which in effect said that guests would be charged extra if blood or body fluids were found on bedding or towels - yuck! My tub did not work and was missing enough tile along the bottom that I could see into the bowels of the building. I became worried about rats and/or bugs entering the room while I slept. Also, the door and lock were not sturdy, so I pushed a piece of furniture against it. All in all, I felt as though I was in a whorehouse in a very scary neighborhood. As a woman traveling alone, I was very, very scared. I called a taxi to take me to a...
Read moreI arrived at 8 am, they gave me a room at second floor. It was very smelly and the WI FI did not work. The young guy at the reception told me to get a room at ground floor, few meters from the reception. No smell in this room but it was extremely dirty, long black hair on the floor and on bed, no towels, dust a bit everywhere, spiderwebs in the toilet. No curtains in the shower and no chances to dry out the water that spilled everywhere. WIFI was slow and with up and downs...very annoying I paid 40 sol at arrival. They told me I had to leave the day after because it was all booked. They waked me up with the room phone at 8:00 am the day after asking for 40 sol more. I paid 80 sol for 26 hours staying. I asked for the receipt but the new guy at the reception could not figure out why I had to pay 80 sol. There are plenty of hostel...
