Nothing wrong with this property. The guy was a little sketchy with his taxi rates. We stayed here on our way in and on our way home again and the rates were different! He explained that it is more expensive picking up as the driver goes early and has to pay for an hour of parking. Why is the driver going a whole hour early? plus in an earlier review, a guy said his flight was 3-4 hours late and the driver was still there. Did this guy pay an extra 28 soles for parking that long? umm no, he didn't. Another review says not much in the area, well there isn't, but if you walk to the right, if you're looking at the hostel, there is a shopping area. It was a great little mall with a huge department store like a Walmart or Target. It had everything. I'm glad we found this and were able to buy snacks and look at other stuff, electronics etc. Also across the road there are many restaurants, pretty well all exactly the same, good food and good prices. Ok I got side tracked. Rooms were good and clean. Like I said, good enough that we stayed a...
Read moreI stayed here for one night in mid-November, 2016. ||||Obviously this isn't a convenient place to base out of for several days in Lima, but if you need something for a night near the airport I feel like it's a very good option. ||Traffic to the airport can 1.5 hours from Miraflores, so I was really grateful to be close by. ||||The outside doesn't look like much but the inside was very clean and pleasant. When you arrive it's on the main street with a sign on the roof. Ring the bell on the left door to get in. (I think)||||This is more like a small-scale budget hotel than a backpackers hostel, which was fine with me. The room was simple but well cared for, clean, and a reasonable size. The staff were friendly (Spanish only if I remember right). ||It's fairly quiet. The pillow was a bit hard but it seems they like firm beds here. ||||There are quite a few restaurants catering to locals nearby but frankly its not a very lovely area. But that's not really the point. The point is convenience and it does that well....
Read moreBEWARE - do not depend on them to have your room reserved if you book in advance......We booked a room well in advance for a quick overnight stay in Lima. We were in contact with Felix from Kurmi Hostel through email and he confirmed our reservation. He also told us they would be at the airport with our name on a sign to pick us up. We arrived in Lima and waited for a while to see if someone showed, nothing. We then called and finally got a hold of someone at Kurmi. They denied ever having a reservation for us and stated that they were fully booked. The individual on the phone was extremely unhelpful and told us to just find somewhere else. He then proceeded to...
