I’ve been to La Vista Ecohouse three times. It’s the best place you can possibly stay in Lobitos.
THE SURF - Walk directly across the street from your bungalow to surf the point. Walk 10 - 15 minutes south to Baterias. Walk 10 - 15 minutes north to Piscinas.
THE PLACE - La Vista Ecohouse only has a total of 4 rooms so it’s very peaceful and it never gets overcrowded. Each room has a private bathroom and there is one shared kitchen. The property looks out directly over the bay and it is one of the most beautiful and dramatic desert/ocean landscapes in the world.
THE HOST - Diego is a incredible host and an all around awesome guy to hangout with. He genuinely cares about his guests and he is also willing to offer local knowledge. He lives on the property so anything you may need during your stay, he is always there to help. This is also nice for security.
THE TOWN - Lobitos is a ghost town so plan accordingly. Stock up on groceries in Talara before you arrive to Lobitos, or take a collectivo back to Talara from Lobitos once you arrive. You can buy the basics in Lobitos but for larger, more economical grocery trips, head to Talara.
If your trying to decide where to go in northern Peru, La Vista Ecohouse in Lobitos should be at the top of your list. Whether you are an expert surfer, just learning how to surf, or even if you don’t surf at all, your guaranteed to enjoy your...
Read moreI've stayed at multiple places during my time in Lobitos, but Diego's was by far the best. I ended up staying in one of his rooms for two weeks and had a perfect stay. He was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, had a nice bed and an amazing balcony and view on the sea. It was also the least expensive of all the places I stayed, which does not at all show in the room or facilities of the place. If you're looking for a good place to relax and have some time for yourself, or be very close to the beach for cheap, don't look...
Read moreI can’t say enough wonderful things about the place and Diego. I originally was only going to stay for 1-2 weeks and in the end I stayed for 2 months. It was exactly what I was looking for, an amazing view of the water with a 2 min walk to the beach and 5-10 min walk to the restaurants in town. And as for Diego he is a very nice, helpful person that speaks English and Spanish. I will definitely be staying there again the next time I’m there! ( ps if you stay say hi to his little dog...
