Las Pocitas — Hotel in Máncora

We stayed here (south of mancora) after a friend insisted we NOT stay in town. Thank goodness. Mancora is dirty, and the beaches are gross. Here, however, it's lovely. There is no garbage in the water or on the beach. The staff keeps up the grounds. The bungalows sit 50 yards from the ocean. My only "complaint " is that there are tiny , tiny ants that get in the room and on the bed. After inquiring at the front desk, my husband just used DEET and sprayed it around the window and doors where they were coming in. Another issue for some could be that the rooms have no insulation. Fortunately we had the very end unit, and our kids were next to us. But when they turned on their tv, I could actually here the words. So, it wasn't a problem for us, but if we had been in a center room, I would have been troubled by hearing from next door. However, I'm sensitive to noise. Overall, this is a great place to stay. It's about a 30 minute walk on the beach into town , or you can take a "taxi" for 5 soles. We got a little tired of eating hers, so we frequently...

-Servicio: Siento que faltaba un poco más de personal, tal vez lo redujeron por pandemia. Si estabas tomando sol en las poltronas de la playa, tenías que acercarte hasta el bar o recepción para pedir alguna bebida o comida. Pero en general bastante amables y serviciales todos.||||-Habitación: Lo mejor fue que está a dos pasos del mar. Tiene su propia terraza con un par de sillones y una hamaca. Nos quedamos en una habitación cuádruple, bastante cómoda. Pero falta una mejor separación con el baño, se podía escuchar todo, faltaba un poquito de privacidad. No tenía friobar, se podía alquilar uno por S/30 o S/40 diarios. La televisión no era smart TV.||||-Comida: Deliciosa! Lo mejor fue el ceviche de ají amarillo. Lo pedimos como 3 días seguidos. Las yuquitas fritas buenazas. Los tragos también estuvieron bastante buenos, pero siguen utilizando cañitas de plástico. Además, el restaurante cierra bastante temprano. Llevamos nuestro propio vino y gin y no tuvieron problemas en brindarnos copas, hielo, limón, sacacorcho o lo que necesitáramos. El desayuno es básico pero muy rico. Las tostadas fueron lo mejor.||||-Ubicación: La ubicación frente al mar es perfecta, la playa es bastante tranquila, liimpia y de agua tibia. Solo hay que tener un poco de cuidado con las rocas en ciertas partes. Si se quiere salir de noche hacia el pueblo de Máncora a cenar o algo, conseguir transporte de ahí está un poco complicado y caminar no es opción porque ese trayecto es trocha y con casi nada de iluminación.||||-Ambiente: Es bastante tranquilo y callado. My husband and I had the chance to stop by Las Pocitas while vacationing in Mancora in October. We felt like celebrities with our own private beach and breezy, relaxed, uncrowded pool and restaurant area. The food was beautifully presented and so fresh! We had ceviche, mango shrimp, and some other things I can't remember but were delicious!
