An Unforgettable Stay at Casa Diego – A True Gem in the Sacred Valley

Staying at Casa Diego was one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Peru. Perched high on a mountain in the heart of the Sacred Valley, this beautiful home offers breathtaking views in every direction — the kind that make you stop and just take it all in. But as stunning as the scenery is, it’s Diego himself who truly makes this place extraordinary.

Every detail of Casa Diego is thoughtfully designed for maximum comfort. From cozy, stylish interiors to serene outdoor spaces, you feel at home the moment you arrive. But what truly sets it apart is Diego’s warmth, hospitality, and incredible cooking. Every meal he prepared was a highlight — fresh, flavorful, and better than anything we had in town.

Beyond being a gracious host, Diego also acted as our personal guide, taking us to all the must-see sites at a fraction of the cost we were quoted elsewhere. His knowledge of the area, his charm, and his genuine kindness made every outing feel special and authentic.

Magical stay in the sacred valley at this lodge. I have spent a lot of time visiting the sacred valley and this was my favorite stay. Location is a 10! You are above the city with a 360 view of mountains and the valley. You can hike to Maras salt mines or to the town below and the owner is also available for affordable taxi service to anywhere you need in the area. The breakfast was delicious - including some of the best mangos I’ve ever eaten. The rooms are simple, cute & clean (with your own bathroom) and I had 3 nights of perfect sleep. I felt like I was able to connect with nature, unplug (although there is great WiFi here) and truly relax. The dinners were great quality- delicious and affordable. Pampachayoq is stunning — a retreat nestled in the calming mountains of Maras, with breathtaking views over Moray and Urubamba. The setting is serene and restorative, surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes you could imagine. The retreat itself is beautifully decorated: simple yet stylish, with fantastic taste. It feels both cozy and homely, the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease. Diego, the host, is truly exceptional.
