Machupicchu — Hotel in Mochumí

First, the pros:||||Clean, spacious room with large comfortable bed. ||Helpful and friendly at reception upon arrival. ||||And... The cons:||||We booked the "suite" which included a "mini bar" (an unplugged refrigerator with nothing inside- that's not a mini bar!) and a "hydromassage bathtub" (it was just a bathtub. No jets or anything so don't expect a spa bath). If you are a couple, save yourself the few extra dollars and skip the suite! ||||The next morning, at a very early 7:20am (one of the few places we didnt have to set an alarm and were looking forward to a sleep in), our phone started ringing. Admittedly, my Spanish is pretty bad (and clearly much worse over the phone) but I had NO idea what the woman was talking about!?! A half hour later, just as we were going back to sleep, there was a knock and breakfast at our door (4 hard boiled eggs, bread with cheese and lunch meat and instant coffee). It was a nice gesture I guess to have breakfast in bed but would have much rather preferred to sleep in. Reception should clear this up the night before.||||And lastly, check out was rather disappointing. We were quoted 34 AUD by the booking website (85 soles) and were told we owed 100 soles. When we tried to work out the exchange rate to be sure we weren't mistaken, the receptionist said "We always charge tourists 100 soles for the suite." We understand that its only $7 difference or so, but that's a lot when they do it to every tourist. ||||Overall, not worth the current rating of #1...

Me recojieron y me llevaron al hotel yo lo solicite reserve la mejor suite que pudieran tener lo hice x referencias de este medio Hiba con mi esposa e hija x unos días y.....la habitación acojedora una cama king un ropero una mesa vista ala calle tv tina agua caliente ventilador pague 85 soles me dieron desayuno , pague x adelantado , cuando subimos hasta el 4 piso a pie fue matadaso mientras vas subiendo parece un hostal un poco oscuro no Vi a nadie más en todo el hotel me dió un poco de miedo , pero bueno todo bien pero decidimos quedarnos ahí solo ese día , está en una zona bastante comercial mucha bulla las calles no son nada presentables debido a q afecto el fenómeno del niño osea la ubicación un poco mala , después lugareños me dijeron q ahí no que es algo peligroso , el hotel 5 de 10 y pues la habitación si la sentimos acojedora pese aq era pequeña ....pero 85...

Great hotel - all the staff are brilliant and really really helpful. More than happy to help with anything.||Hotel is really well looked after too - fantastic value. Room was clean and spacious and bed was really comfy. Woke up to a yummy breakfast...
