Unfortunately, in Moyobamba you don't have much of a choice if you want a hotel with amenities such as gardens, pool, bar, etc. Puerto Mirador might be your only choice unless you want to stay in a basic hostel in the city or in a lodge type accommodation. ||The hotel has a large infrastructure but it is completely outdated an in desperate need of a renovation. Like a place stuck in the seventies with a whole collection of real stuffed prey animals. The person who seemed like the owner or manager is quite old and seems tired and doesn't care about those details that make a stay a great stay.|| As most non 4 or 5 stars hotels outside of Lima, the bedding is awful so at least take your own travel pillow! It is the Peruvian countryside so if you are not woken up by the roosters, you will by the parties that go on around the hotel during most weekends or holidays; on weekdays you might be woken up by the noise of the lawn mowers that start their trimming activities at 7 am. Staff is courteous albeit not terribly enthusiastic. Food is ok but not great. Swimming pool not terribly clean but swimmable. The view from the hotel is the best if offers. I hope somebody decides to invest in this property because Moyobamba is surrounded by wonderful natural beauty and has great...
Read moreThis hotel is at the top of a hill where you see the dense jungle vegetation around it. You can hear and see nature's noises and beauty. The view is breathtaking! We stayed in a triple room for two nights. The rooms are beautifully done with wooden walls and clean. This is a place where you can really have a relaxing break from reality, especially if you come from big cities. You can have a drink by the pool at the end of the day and enjoy a marvellous sunset! The hotel's restaurant is pretty good (international and Peruvian dishes) with an inside and outside area by the pool. The food portions are quite large. Breakfast is very good too: bread, cereals and lots of fresh fruit. I would definitely would like to return.||||The service from receptionists was the only negative aspect of our experience. Our first room didn't have hot water and the ladies at the reception weren't very helpful in solving this problem. However, we managed to solve the problem by changing to...
Read moreVisited for over 10 days , situated to the far side of town. Not many local amenities directly available. Some staff need extra training as to customer service and hospitality skills overall. Staff on site only seemed concerned with large groups doing yoga and families visiting. rooms don’t have a/c but do have large ceiling fans only. bathrooms don’t have a bath only showers. My toilet in my bathroom flooded 3 times during my stay and the room itself was just adequate. Food selection is very little for breakfast and the staff again allow the groups to consume it all and leave nothing for other guests. Pool table is bad- needs replacing to be honest. Decor is awful with a dead animals strewn around main building. Pool area and view over...
