Hotel El Angolo — Hotel in Pariñas

I stayed at this hotel from 29th Jan 2013, for 8 days. The hotel is very basic with basic amenities. However, it is clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My first room had an aircon problem and so I was shifted to another room. The second room also had a prob in the bathroom, so I was promptly shifted to a bigger nicer room.||The breakfast is complimentary, though it is quite basic. There is wifi available in the lobby & restaurant and also in rooms (if you are near the lobby area).||The location of the hotel is quite nice. It is in a quiet & peaceful location and yet is not too far away from the main shopping area. ||There are a few restaurants near the hotel (between 10 - 15 mins walk away).||Over all, it was a lovely experience. Latam airlines offered us an overnight stay at a "4" star hotel if we gave up our seats. They originally promised Casa Andina but ultimately put us at El Angolo and claimed it was the same standard as Casa Andina. It was most definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. The first thing I saw when I went into the room and went to place my bag on a chair, was a giant roach on it. I was immediately turned off and proceeded to inspect the rest of the room and found blood stains on the curtain and other questionable stains throughout. We stayed at this hotel when it was brand new and liked it. The rooms are a little dark, as there are no windows except at the entry. I booked it for March 2015, but after taking a look at the room and the somewhat run-down aspect of it, decided it would be too depressing to stay there, and returned to Piura with my chauffeur to stay at Los Portales.
