Amazon Garden Ecolodge Boutique — Hotel in Punchana

Our experience at the Amazon Garden Eco-Lodge was magical, and beyond all our expectations. Upon arrival you are greeted by Juan Miguel the host, a Boxer dog named Roco, and Ramoncito the Choro monkey who roams free, but prefers to ride on Roco’s back. Reyter our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed learning about the different types of birds, fish, insects, and medicinal plants of the area. Each excursion was well planed and educational. We particularly enjoyed watching the sunrise very early in the morning during our birds watch expedition. Our host Juan Miguel goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, safe, and immersed in this beautiful and unique experience. Healthy, organic and delicious gourmet food is served 3 times per day showcasing the culinary tradition and variety of the Amazon Rain Forest. The infrastructure, accommodations, and logistics were first class, and we felt privileged to be there each day. We had an opportunity to visit the insectarium and see some of the wild life. Tarantulas, venomous frogs, giant butterflies, bullet ant, termites, praying mantis, stick bugs were some of the insects we were able to appreciate at the insectarium. Our couple mud bath was a very healing and memorable experience that we will treasure for ever. We admire the relationship that the lodge has with the locals of Pueblo Porvenir and we were lucky to interact with them during a special visit from the Huayo project. This was a place recommended to us and it didn’t disappoint |The whole stay at the very impressive lodge was pretty much perfect for us. This is a very beautiful place deeper in the jungle along the Rio Momon, near the indigenous village of Porvenir. It has 9 large cabins with space for family, private toilet and showers. A large rainwater pool is kept very clean and is suitable for children ( with a paddle pool for small children) There are some friendly pets and monkeys that will come to check on you. They have a bar and snacks around the pool and a large dining room with very nice food, cooked by local chefs. 3 meals a day, with coffee and tea available all hours. A relaxing balcony to watch the Rio Momon below. They also have programs to walk by night or at Dawn to hear the birds of the forest. They have many interesting activities, also good for teenage children. Boating, fishing, mud bath, space for yoga and for group retreats. Massage and angel tarot cards and ayahuasca ceremonies on special demand. Highly recommended. It is worth the price for a really special time away...
