I have had plenty of experience living near water, but the Amazon Oasis Lodge was my first experience living ON the water. Located right on the arm of the Amazon, the pure and tranquil Momon river, it offers some amazing natural scenery, and all day observation of birds and butterflies. In the evening, you can hear the frogs. For monkey lovers, there is one living near the hotel, partially-tamed, which might sometimes jump into your canoe if you intentionally come close enough. When a motor boat passes by, you will be sweetly swayed. If you are in a hammock, the slight motion of the whole lodge might even lulluby you to sleep. The food served is all local and there are various vegetarian and vegan options, Jackie and Daniel will practically cook whatever you wish for - if the area offers it. The owners are a family you will quickly become friends with, even more so since there are only four bungalows for the guests so the atmosphere is very private and family-like. The tours offered as well as the other activities (canoe, swimming, meditation) will certainly satisfy the adventurous as well as the more tranquil ones. I am sure to be back to this place someday.

The Amazon Oasis Lodge is truly an amazing place! As a solo traveler in the Iquitos area, I am very grateful to have found such a wonderful place to stay in a warm, safe and friendly environment. It is like a peaceful, lighthouse in the jungle. The family that runs the Lodge takes great care to promote this kind of lovely environment. It is remarkable they they built the floating lodge by hand with great skill and artistry. Many thanks to Cesar, Martin and Jacqueline, Luis and Daniel for making me feel like a special guest and part of the Amazon Oasis family. Because of them, I was able to experience many wonderful sights and adventures (at a reasonable price) such as the the island of the Monkeys (a 2 hour boat journey up the Amazon and a must see!). Also El Serpentario and Pilpintuwasi animal reserves. They are very experienced guides of the area! It was also great to just hang out at the lodge...swing in the hammocks, swim in the Momon river (really safe and refreshing), take small boat rides, relax or sleep to the lulling sounds of the jungle and enjoy delicious meals and fresh juices prepared by cook, Winston. Since I was there during the rainy season, it was even more vividly dramatic to see the double rainbows surrounding the lodge after a downpour. These are colors that I will never forget! In any season, if you are looking for the most perfect place to stay in the jungle near Iquitos, you will most certainly find it at the Amazon Oasis Lodge.

Our family of 4 with 2 teens stayed for 4 nights in one room. We loved it! We went during lowest water levels of the year in August. Some of the water activities for kids like tubing and water skiing were not available because of this. Despite the calm waters the mosquitos were not a problem at all. The meals were delicious but limited. The excursions were great to monkey island, tribes, sanctuaries and such. Without any effort on your part you can go on 2-3 per day. When we got tired of the food they dropped and picked us up at the Amazonas restaurant for a change of scenery, food and most of all a filtered chlorinated swimming pool just 5 minute boat ride from the lodge. The children and family are most helpful and will miss them very much. We can't wait to return. There are no fans in the room..I suggest a foldable fan or a USB rechargeable fan. It is worth staying a minimum of 3 nights to get a good experience.

We stayed here for 3 days / 2 nights in July of 2021. We had a very good experience. We were a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children - 13,11, 9). We think this place is good to give an introductory feel of what the Amazon is like. We picked it because it didn't require a 3 - 4 hour boat ride like some of the more remote Amazon lodges. This, however, means that you are closer to town and you will hear a lot of boats passing by (even in the middle of night). ||||The family who runs this place is awesome. They are four brothers who actually built the entire lodge themselves. They have great stories to tell about how they built the lodge and what they had to go through to do it. They will really work hard at making your entire stay enjoyable. ||||We contacted the lodge directly and worked an all inclusive deal that would include meals and tours to some of the local attractions. We would highly recommend that option. (Monkey Island, which is an hour away was our kids favorite). ||||When booking this lodge, please remember that you are in the jungle. Showers will not have hot water. There will be mosquitos. Cesar got a mosquito net to put around our bed. We would recommend that option. ||||Our kids also enjoyed fishing for baby Piranhas right off of the lodge deck. We would recommend this. It was a fun activity. ||||My wife, who doesn't like the jungle much said that 3 days, 2 nights was "just right." ||||If you are going to eat at the lodge we recommend the fish. It was the best of what they had (although we weren't brave enough to try the Lagarto (or Cayman) ). ||||We would definitely stay here again. It was one of the highlights of our 4 week tour of...
