Paka Paka Lodge — Hotel in San Agustín de Cajas

We had a lovely three nights here situated just on the outskirts of the local plaza with the hills behind and views across the city from the balcony. The area in general was very peaceful but also with plenyy of places to eat, the hills and forests directly behind to walk in and plenty of taxis nearby if you need to go tje centre. ||Irma and Jose were great hosts and despite the language barrier went above and beyond to help us make the most of our time in Huancayo, they provided a tour arround the hot spots in the city which was a great way to get a feel for the place, culture and heritage and helped us organise a walk in the mountains to see the glacier and lagoons, they were very warm and made it a real highlight of our time in Peru. El viaje a Perú fur espectacular pero la altura me afectó demasiado. Cuando llegamos a Huancayo, se me partia la cabeza, me dolía la panza, no podía caminar.. estaba de muy mal. Pero desde el momento que Don Jose nos busco de la parada del bus nos trató como sus hijos a mi esposa y a mi. Don José se convirtió en mi papá por 3 días. Nos cocino, nos fue a buscar, y fue a comprar comida. Uniendo total. Si están en Huancayo y no se quedan con Don José, se pierden el mejor host de todo Huancayo.
