Pumarinri Amazon Lodge — Hotel in Shapaja

We were a group of eleven and we all had a bad experience with the service. The people who work there are not happy, and they transmit you that feeling of not being enjoying their work. The man who receive us in the reception was not friendly at all. It seems like he was doing us a big favor receiving us.||||The food was good but there are some plates that not are in the menu and in the restaurant the waiter gave us a price and in the reception at the check out we had to pay a bigger price. They did not want us to leave the price we were told. Also, we order Margaritas and were horrible, the worst Margaritas I haven taken, and we went to the bar to showed our discomfort and asked to change the drink or not have to pay, they said that was the recipe and that was all. We had to paid it at the check out.||||To plan our transport back to the airport they did not ask us at what time we want it and arrange it at a time we did not want and also they were saying we have to pay more. Thankfully we had the mailed that said the original price that we paid, and we had to show that mail to save us of that new charge on the bill.||||In conclusion, the lodge has beautiful rooms with view to the river but the service is so bad that none of the 11 we travel want to go back or recommend it.||||My advice to the owner of the lodge is that the staff has to take a course of hospitality and learn how to smile and feel happy at their...

We spent 7 nights at Pumarinri - possibly our most relaxing vacation yet... We found the staff very attentive, the food varied and consistently excellent, and the room extremely pleasant and comfortable (we were in an air-conditioned suite - it might have been a little too warm in the afternoons without air conditioning.) But the best thing of all is the beautiful setting overlooking the river, surrounded by tropical vegetation and all the wildlife that goes along with it - ideal for birdwatching. We were delighted to see toucans, monkeys and tree frogs right there on the property - we interspersed the day trips with time just relaxing in a hammock or swimming (there's a choice of a very civilised pool or a rather more rustic natural version... They both have a rather paradisaic feel.) We realised at the end of the week that we had never once used the TV - it was a great opportunity to disconnect and do a digital detox. In terms of trips we really enjoyed the birding river trip and the waterfalls, and Laguna Sauce is surprisingly beautiful. We would love to return to Pumarinri if we get the chance! Todo muy bien, me encantó el lugar pero no le doy 5 ⭐️ porque tiene algunas cosas que mejorar. ||El lodge en sí y la comida 100 puntos, lo recomiendo completamente y volvería a ir sin dudarlo.||Lo que deberían mejorar: |1. Tours: |En Instagram ofrecen tour a la Laguna azul, por eso reservé en ese hotel pero cuando se acercó mi fecha de viaje y quise reservar ( ya había pagado por el alojamiento) resulta que no lo ofrecen…. 🙄 ||En el caso del tour a las cataratas, lo único que hace el hotel es brindar la movilidad al lugar donde inicia la caminata. Luego nos dejan con un guía local encargado. En nuestro caso éramos 2 parejas y un guía. Cuando llegamos a la catarata , nos encontramos con una pareja que iban con un guía particular, una de estas personas tuvo un accidente grave al resbalarse de una piedra (y cuando digo grave , fue realmente GRAVE) Ninguno de los guías tenía equipo de primeros auxilios, ninguno de los guías tenía radio para comunicarse y pedir ayuda (ni hay señal en el lugar) |Nuestro guía tuvo que volver por el camino (45 minutos aprox) para pedir ayuda y nosotros tuvimos que auxiliar al hombre como podíamos. |En total tardaron más de 2 horas en poder auxiliar a la persona para llevarla a tarapoto para ser atendido. |Cuando comenté lo sucedido al personal del hotel sólo me respondieron que el lodge ya les había pagado un curso de primeros auxilios a los guías del tour…. Pero totalmente desentendidos de lo que pueda pasar. A mi me parece que si ofrecen ese servicio deberían preocuparse porque las personas encargadas lo cumplan lo mejor posible y estén preparados y capacitados en casos de accidente y sobre todo estar comunicados!! ||Tomamos otro tour, el de las lancha y avistamiento de aves y honestamente no vale para nada lo que cuesta. La embarcación bien, el guía muy hábil en identificar a las aves pero fue terriblemente aburrido. Un guía de ese tipo y con la biodiversidad de la selva peruana tiene para hablar horas sin parar, pero el guía lo único que hacía era “miren esa es el ave tal” y la marcábamos en la hojita de aves que nos dan. Sin exagerar el taxista que me llevó al del areopierto fue mejor guía de fauna que él. MUY aburrido. No lo recomiendo. Además habían dos personas extranjeras que hablaban inglés y no entendieron nada porque lo poco o nada que explicó el guía fue sólo en español….||Cocina y servicios en general: todo A1, la comida excelente, muy rica. Una cosa que me llamó la atención para mal es que el personal de la cocina envolvía las verduras frescas en PLASTICO !! Montones de papel film para conservar las verduras , habiendo muchas opciones ecológicas. De “eco” les falta bastante aún. ||La última cosa , es que al lado de la cocina tienen una tablita en un árbol donde ponen frutas para que los monos se acerquen a comer, no sé si esto lo harán todos los días, pero pudimos verlo nuestro ultimo día. Y deberían saber que ¡¡¡NO SE ALIMENTA A LA FAUNA SILVESTRE!!!||Por lo demás, limpieza, servicio y atención en general todo excelente. Espero puedan mejorar esas cositas y que la próxima que vaya si pueda...
