There aren't many hotel options in Chincha but I definitely wouldn't recommend La Estancia Sur-Hotel in Chincha. My stay at that hotel was a miserable experience. I'll list the problems so we can get to the point.||||1. I made a reservation for a bungalow (for 4 people), but when I arrived midweek they told me that the bungalows are only used during the weekend. After the initial confusion, I was given two separate rooms instead of a bungalow. ||||2. The two rooms that we were shown were newly refreshed (and unfinished) as compared to the musty, dark bungalow (no air conditioning in 80 degree weather). Despite the initial confusion, I accepted the change since I was incorrectly told that the room rates were the same. ||||3. There was no hot water. Nobody had bothered to turn on the hot water in our rooms until I requested it, almost 24 hours after check-in.||||4. The hotel administrator, Margarita, lectured my friend for complaining about the poor service in public.||||5. The hotel administrator disappeared when I tried to ascertain the whereabouts of my laundered clothes that she promised I would receive 15 hours prior. She never apologized for the long delay.||||6. During the weekends, the breakfast service was unbelievably slow. The restaurant staff was disorganized and unprepared for a dining area full of guests. The only thing that was plentiful were the flies.||||7. While playing with my friend's daughter in the children's play area, I noticed a 6 inch spike (rebar) sticking out of the ground next to the trampoline. At the same time, there were large hedge clippers leaning against a ball pit. I have included photos of both of those situations.||||8. During checkout, the administrator, refused to honor the room rates that I was previously emailed by Ms. Brioso from the Lima headquarters. At best, it was a misunderstanding (I speak, read and write Spanish quite well). At worse, it was the bait and switch.||||9. While YMMV, I would suggest staying at another property if at all possible.||||Thank you for reading about...
Read moreIt has a low value for price. We went with 2 families, organizing the trip from Lima, paying the rack rate of S/. 330 a night for a bungalow.||For that price you expect a upper class hotel with all the facilities. But it was very standard. The reception was not manned, and we had to insist for 10 minutes before they opened the door. The breakfast buffet opened late ( 8 am ) while the main activities in the area include Paracas which you must visit very early. The breakfast buffet is a VERY simple continental breakfast with no choice and no extras. The butter was melted and refrozen etc. No choice of juice and marmalade. It is right next to the Panamericana, giving a lot of traffic noise. I am a hotel owner in Lima, and there are many small details not correct. It feels like they try to safe on small details, like switching on hot water upon request, the showerhead was blocked, and I had to call maintenance.||The pool was not heated, and therefore unusable, in the Hilton in Paracas the children played in the heated pool for hours ( paying $10 for using it as non-guest )||||If they would charge like S/.200 for a bungalow it would be more appropriate, as for the price they charge you expect a upper class treatment, which you don't get.||We should have gone to a hotel in Paracas or Ica, as Chincha has very few to offer for a family trip. In Huacachina (Ica) they charged S/. 275 in the best hotel ( for 4 persons ).||||On the bright side, the children liked the trampoline, and the fire...
