We arrived to Posada Gloria and asked for a bedroom with shared bathroom. Originally the lady wanted to charge us 80S for breakfast with that. We then found out her prices aren’t the same as the ones on booking. So we recommend booking online! We had no light in our room so we had to use our flashlights and head torch. Also no sockets. She tried to charge us 5S for Wi-Fi per device even though it says it’s free on booking. We also had a problem with our toilet which was located so close to the wall that you can’t sit on the toilet in a normal position. At dinner we sat down at a table for 3 people but the lady told us to go to another table instead because the table we sat at was for groups. She told us to sit at another table for 6 people with another person. She then came back and complained that we didn’t want to move table even though we did immediately. She then explained the table was for people who eat meat even though we had ordered the vegetarian option. Also it says on booking that there’s a shared kitchen free to use but we asked if we could make a tea which she said no to. In the morning when we wanted to pay she again gave us a completely different price than the day before. In general it was just not a very good experience, and we didn’t feel very welcome at Posada Gloria. We encourage people to go to Posada Roy which is 15 min down the...
Read moreRead moreW stayed here on our three day trek through the Colca canyon (Cabanaconde - San Chuan - Sangalle - Cabanaconde). The location is easy to find and along the trek. It’s a very quiet and nice place, very green, surrounded by various beautiful fruit and avocado trees. We had good food and the price was reasonable. Gloria was also a very friendly host🙂 There are different options to stay: group rooms with no private bathroom and private rooms with bathroom. The private rooms cost 80s and always include breakfast, although breakfast can also be added to the cheaper rooms. We really liked our room, especially because of the fantastic view onto the canyon walls. We could watch the sunset from our bedroom! 🌅 Our bathroom had a plumbing issue and the sink and toilet leaked onto the floor which made everything super smelly. This is why we only give 4 stars, but it’s really the only thing we would criticize. All in all we had a really lovely stay and can recommend staying here during...
We stayed here during our trek through the colca canyon. When we arrived the place was very busy as all tours do stop here for lunch. After the tours leave it is quite calm. The garden is cool to relax and has a view on the mountains. However the sun will be gone real quick and this village will be in shade of the mountains very early (3-4pm). The dinner was ok (for 25 soles) but the vegetarian option was basically the same dish but without the meat. In the morning we also got breakfast. It was pancakes with banana and afterwards a egg with cracker. If you are going to cabanaconde afterwards I recommend starting very early. I recommend booking this place via whatsapp. We paid 25 soles per person for shared bathroom.
The little shop is very overprized. For example a big bottle of water costs 20 soles / 5 Euro, Beer 15 soles, small Softdrinks 7 soles. Take enough water or go to the small local shop across the street. It is open in...
