Hotel Altar Inca — Hotel in Taray

Although they allowed us to book online 1 room for $100 USD. When we showed up the door was locked. Eventually 2 waitresses came over and they wouldn’t even allow us through the door. They said we couldn’t stay there. I pulled up our reservation email that showed the confirmation and they told us we could stay for $200 usd even though online we booked for $100. So are you a hotel or not? Maybe for the right price? Why would it matter how much we pay if there is no hotel staff? We walked away and shortly after they locked the doors and left. We were on our way from Cusco to Pisac when we saw the sign for Altar Inca Restaurant on the edge of the most incredible valley view. We were so glad that we talked our driver into stopping. A beautiful find on the route from pisac to cusco! The hotel is perched on a high cliff over viewing the sacred valley and pisac far below. The rooms are large and lovely, furnished with high quality furniture, and all have large picture windows with majestic views of the valley.
