Maria Guest House — Hotel in Bantayan Island

The rooms had everything you would need and if there was something missing you simply can ask for anything you would need. Good sized and impeccable clean rooms and property. The highlight for us is the location, as its just outside of the touristy Santa Fe town and a bit further to Bantayan town in a village like environment. Super relaxed atmosphere, a great place to stay longer and to simply relax. The most beautiful Sandira Beach is very close by, opposite of the property you find a small shop with all the essentials. The staff and the owner couple of Maria's GH is amazingly friendly and helpful with everything. We rented a motorbike with them to get around easily. Booked hassle free via Agoda. Kind owners and caretakers - Ate Beth :) You can rent a motorcycle for 300 per day (super worth it!) Simple rooms - has AC and wifi, hot shower (not the best), nice firm bed, shared kitchen so you can cook your own meals, free drinking water. They do not sell food in the guest house but there is a “carenderia” across the street. The place is farther from the central point - around 15mins drive but is accessible. Road gets dark around at night. It is also close to Sandira Beach. For the price we are paying, I think it is worth it if you just need a place to sleep and don’t mind the tranquility of the location. We booked the room for a night but had to cut our trip short and head back to Cebu because of a medical emergency. We reached out to the owner to see if there was any chance of a refund, but we didn’t hear back until five days later. We totally understand if the policy is no refunds, but it just felt a bit off not to get even a quick acknowledgment. A response would’ve meant a lot.
