When I read the reviews, I became hesitant that my expectations will not be met. I was easily swayed by what I read that made me doubted my decision of reservating a room. They said the food wasn't great, service is slow, no hot & cold shower, etc. However, they weren't true. The food, yes, was a little pricey, but, was delicious and the serving per our order was generous. We ordered pancit canton-bihon, crispy pata, fried chicken and a platter of rice for lunch on our 1st day. The food was superb. My husband and in laws were all praises to the quality of the food. We ordered sinaing na tulingan, bulalo and spare ribs in bbq sauce for dinner, and yet again, expectations were met. The price of the food explains the quality. The hotel staff were courteous, all are in smiles, you can ask for anything and they follow without hesitation. They served free brewed coffee during breakfast at the restaurant for all guests, along side the free breakfast platter for everyone. Everyone are in their high spirits as we get to eat our breakfast and cozy to the view of the ocean. Their hot & cold shower is centralized. Just turn the shower knob left for cold and right for hot. The view from our room was magnificent, took all the bad reviews I read away and made me decide to come back on future occasions. Kudos to all staff and crew of Playa Montaña! You earned another satisfied...

Read moreThis is a late review as I went there last year. First off, the water coming out of their shower was contaminated with sea water. It smelled fishy and the pressure was too weak. You won't feel refresh after bathing. I paid for an overnight stay but decided to leave even without refund because I was not comfortable with the shower. It felt sticky. Also, the room needs more improvement as they don't have a place for the two of you to comfortably seat on, only 1 small table and a wooden chair. It felt like a hospital room than a hotel. They have a pool using sea water. It smells fishy too and the walls were discolored with moss..same as the water falls. The access to the beach and pool would be difficult for people who have problems using stairs as it was several levels down. Normally , hotels should have elevator for this. The beach was rocky and full of sharp stones. You need an Aqua shoes to be able to enjoy it. I did not order any food because of these disappointing issues. I just checked out fast. Additionally, they have few parking space nearby if you're lucky to get one but if not, the next parking will be on top of the hill and it's an arduous walk...
