Ligaya's Pension House — Hotel in Bohol

I had to spend a night in Tubigon with my fiancee and with choices even more limited in town with the Monina Midtown Inn closed for repairs after the earthquake of October, 2013, we stayed at Ligayas Pension House for the night. After my experiences at other local accommodation places in Bohol I was not expecting much and was quite surprised. We stayed in Room 5 which is quite large with a big kitchen area, large lounge area, bedroom with two single beds and a comfort room with shower, toilet and wash basin.||||Whilst the decor is pretty basic, the big plusses are that the room is very clean, everything works as it should in the comfort room, the beds though basic are quite comfortable, the bed linen is clean and well maintained and the air conditioning does sort of work. Naturally there are things that need to be maintained better - the wash basin in the comfort room needs repairing as it drips badly, the closet is the bedroom is anything but functional, the wall fan in the lounge is rather noisy and the air conditioner is rather tired - but the main negative was the noise from what sounds like a construction site behind the pension house.||||Well that and the cockerels that woke me up at 5am!||||Whilst we did not sample them, there is apparently a snack bar at the pension house and they can do breakfasts for you if necessary. No other facilities are available.||||It is a little bit out of town which does not help much, but overall we had a good night's sleep and that is all that really matters. Tubigon is a little bit far from the usual tourist attractions in Bohol. From my experience, inns and hostels in the rural communities are overpriced for their value. This facility is the best one you can find in tubigon for its price and quality. A single room is PhP 650 a night and they can serve breakfast for PhP 120 (2 eggs, a good enough serving of your protein of choice, rice, and instant coffee). It is located off of the town square, but it's just a 10-20 PhP tricycle ride, so it's not much of a bother. Their staff is very accommodating and friendly. Just some hundred meter (ca 700m) from Tubigon pier is Ligayas pensionhouse located. The pensionhouse is very very good, if u want to sleep, calm down, this one is the best. I have been there plenty of times, and every time i could sleep very very good.
