Hotel Koresco Uptown — Hotel in Cagayan de Oro

In a span of a week, I had two different hosts choose Hotel Koresco for the venue for my seminars. One host had her group based in the same city (Cagayan de Oro City); the other was based in a neighboring province (Lanao del Norte). I can only guess that they got a very good deal with hotel management as they had 50 and 100 participants, respectively. I prefer the bigger function room that was used for the second group. Wifi was stronger there; it was fluctuating in the smaller function room. I was privileged to be put in two big rooms; the first was a suite. Admittedly, I didn't have to be put in such big rooms. It was obvious though that not much was being spent on maintaining the facilities and equipment. We were able to use the pool for our group activity but the water in it was no longer very clear. If you're in Cagayan de Oro to do white water rafting and to go to Bukidnon then you may consider this hotel especially if all other newer hotels in the same are are fully booked.||||The rooms are big. Even with the two queen size beds and cabinets, there's still so much space for 3 more single beds. If you're travelling with your family (with kids) this is perfect. But if you are travelling by yourself, this room is so depressing, gloomy.||||The room is clean. But other than the two complimentary bottled water, there's nothing else. ||The bathroom is clean but old, needs renovation, has weird lay out. Other than in the tub, there's another set of shower on the wall near the mirror. Needs to fix the hot water, not ||working. One has to request for hair dryer, not a standard offer.||||Wifi is free but it's only in the lobby. There's no internet connection inthe room.||||Redeeming value - staff...

I stayed here for two nights with my family, it was weekend. My first impression to this hotel is purely Korean hotel. I really thought we don’t deserve to stay at this hotel or maybe we won’t be able to adopt what kind of culture they have in this hotel. But it proved me wrong. This hotel is a perfect place to stay if you want to breathe some fresh air, because it is away from the polluted city. Accessible to the airport and SM mall. We used the room which is facing golf course at the fifth floor and what amazed me is the very nice and green view of the golf course. They also have a salad buffet and me and my mom is used to be a vegetarian lady that is why I really enjoyed staying here.
