Janca Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Catarman

The rooms they gave us are not only dated, but also unclean. Toilet flush does not work for all three rooms we booked. Very cramped and bathroom is straight out of a horror movie. I’m a local so my standards are not that high. They’ll ask for half of the payment when you book. We decided to just move to a different accommodation, they would only half of what we paid for, which is about the price of one night for the rooms we booked. Understandable, yes, if we changed our minds for no valid reason. We had to just take the loss because anyone looking to relax would not stay here. My dad is old and I don’t want him lifting a tub of water just to flush a toilet. It is beachfront but the beach is dirty. I wished they were transparent about the condition when we were booking via facebook msgr. Seriously, these are shady practices. We moved to Paguia Resort near Mambajao and were 100% happier. It’s also dated but the rooms and the resort are well-maintained and most importantly, clean. They didn’t ask for payment upfront and staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were affordable and clean. I love the serenity of the area and the relaxing ambiance of the surroundings. However, there were no televisions in the rooms which is usually basic for any hotels or rentals. You will also need to pay an additional P50.00 for an extra or replacement blanket or towel.

The service though was really good. The staff were very helpful and WIFI is also available at least making up for the lack if television. They have a small pool which actually you won't be using that much because most of the day, you will definitely be enjoying the springs, falls, beaches...
