February 2025 The place is beautiful, quiet, clean, and super relaxing here at Isla del Antonio. The caretakers (Joseph and his brother) are very kind, and the service is great. The only issue was that the lock on our room was broken. The place still feels safe, but I hope they get it fixed. 😅
The area is surrounded by a lake, making it a perfect spot for some peace and reflection. Even though it was raining when my sister and I visited, we still had a great time. You can also go kayaking here. The private restroom is fine even though it’s outside. There’s a private kitchen with basic utensils, but they don’t have a pot holder. 😅 Pero okay lang yun.. 😊
It truly has that provincial vibe... uncrowded, quiet, and the air is so fresh. When we visited, we were the only guests, so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The atmosphere is peaceful and refreshing.. definitely a perfect escape from the noise and stress of city life. 😊
As soon as you arrive on the island, you’ll be greeted by Tim, their dog. He’s adorable, smart, and super friendly! It’s like having an instant welcome committee that makes you feel at home. 😄
We commuted to get here, so I’m not sure if they have parking for those bringing their own vehicles. We took a boat to reach the island.
It’s better to buy all your necessities before taking the boat since there aren’t stores around. You can ask Kuya Joseph to buy things for you if needed, but he’ll still have to take a boat to town. So, it’s best to come prepared and have everything you might need.
As for food, you can have meals cooked there, and Kuya Joseph’s cooking is really good! So if you weren’t able to bring food, don’t worry.. it’s definitely worth trying his dishes. 😋😊
They also provide basic toiletries like toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, and conditioner for free. You can rent a bath towel, though I forgot how much it costs. 👍🏻☺️
Signal reception here is weak, especially when it’s raining. The electricity runs on a generator, which is only on from 5 PM to 12 AM. Bringing a power bank is highly recommended to avoid running out of battery.
Overall, I really loved it here, and I hope to come back with my husband and child. I’m sure they’ll enjoy the relaxing vibe and the escape from the city noise.
Suggestion: I hope they can fix the lock for added safety and put up some curtains for more...
Read moreSpent Chinese new year with our kids and Shih Tzu twins at one of the villas at Isla Del Antono.|This resort is remotely located on the shores of Lumot Mahipon lake in the vicinity of Cavinti, Laguna. |You would have to take their speed boat to get to the property since there is no paved access by land available yet. |Though we decided to book this trip in the last minute (one day before check-in), we were still able to smoothly secure our reservations. Thanks to the very accommodating owner/super host Rhea. |When we reached the parking area, Rhea personally anticipated and greeted us upon arrival and endorsed us to the boat crew. The boat trip only took 10mins. Checked in at the villa at 9pm. |Joseph the caretaker was very helpful in assisting us with our needs. He even set a bonfire for us which was one of the highlights of our stay. |The only slight complaint that I have was that I was not informed by Rhea beforehand that electricity at the property was only available from sunset until midnight -- was extended to 2am for us since we got there late in the evening. |But we eventually realized it didn't actually matter because the weather was already relatively cold even without an electric fan. |We didn't try swimming in the lake the next day because it didn't stop raining that day so we just chilled out with our pooches inside the villa. |Will definitely book this...
Read moreIsla Del Antonio is a private island at lumot lake which is a freshwater lake. To get here, you'll need to find "private car parking garage" on Google maps. Do not use "Isla del antonio" on maps or Waze as it'll take you elsewhere.
From the private car parking garage, you'll need to ride a boat to get to the island which is about 7-8 minutes away. Power is supplied by generators so it's only on from 6pm to 1am. There is no air conditioning but there's always a cool breeze and the temperature drops at night.
Your cottage will come with a kitchen but you'll get charged for using the gas stove. You can cook all your meals here using the stove. There's no rice cooker or electric kettle.
The toilet is an outhouse meaning you'll have to go outside your cottage. There's no flush for the toilet so you'll have to pour water after you do your business. You'll also be using a bucket to wash yourself. Bring your own towels.
Do expect plenty of mosquitoes, ants and all sorts of insects. Bring bug spray and off lotion. Bring rechargeable fans and lights as well as power banks. Signal isn't that great here for smart and globe but dito is surprisingly stable.
There's a small sari-sari store that sells canned food, rice, eggs and toiletries. You'll be charged for parking as well as using the boat. Using the...
