G&B hostel — Hotel in Cebu City

Originally booked for 2 nights however changed our plans slightly. Receptionist was very friendly and gave me a full refund on our second night. A great service! Room was small with a poor fan, so room was very warm, however we managed and price was pretty cheap! Great for a short stay. Above a mini mart so that was great and plenty of places near by for snacks etc. Wifi very good! I had my hair cut across the road for 40 peso's! The guy did a great job too! What a bargain! He spoke little to no English but we worked it out! Shared bathroom was fine! Room pretty clean! Very quiet considering the location is on a main road! Well sound proofed! Raphaels sports bar was a short scooter taxi away so we went there at night, good food and the staff were great! Jeepneeys and taxis running all night so travel was easy! Info on the walls on how to get to Moalboal etc! Which is what we did, very easy to work out! A nice little find! Head to reception for info on anything else, they are very helpful! Well, staff was good to me. Even i corrected her from mistakenly addressing me as Sir by texts. So i told her when u dont know whom r u texting. Use Sir/Ma'am not only Sir. So she apoligized and i said its ok. I like the way she responded to any of my questions. WIFI no need to ask. Automatically given upon checked in. So fast connection. I stayed in Room E 3fl. Room with fan was ok. They put exhaust fan in the fan room. Its nice idea. Free toilet paper,soap and shampoo with towels. No smoking inside. Need to improve the cleanliness. Dusty everywhere specially the window and curtains. The toilet is shared in 2 rooms. Thats fine cos toilet is well maintained. A bit look old place but was nice to stay. Located in a very rough neighborhood of cebu, but conveniently nestled above a convenience store. The staff are very friendly and the ac room was comfortable enough for a short stay. 200P taxi to/from the airport and about 100P to south bus terminal. Watch out though, saw many cockroaches and even managed to kill one. Saw none in the bedroom though, mainly the shared washrooms/ premises in general. I probably wouldn't stay here again mainly due to the inconvenient location. There are no healthy food options anywhere nearby. Be prepared to eat fried chicken and instant noodles, or take a 100+P taxi into town to get something digestible. The place was cheap though and the reasons are clear.
