Overall, mixed experience with this resort, too pricey given above issues, won't come back and won't recommend. (Details below) Stay in Cebu R Tabuelan instead. The good) Pretty view especially in the evening when the huge mangrove trees are lit Spacious room Cool AC Hot shower Crispy pata Free water (they have a dispenser) The bad) Room had a broken chair, busted lightbulb, ants everywhere (even on the bed) and a RAT rummaging through the bin at night. Given the price of the room is on the higher end for this area, we expected the hotel to double check these things. Food at the restaurant was hit or miss. On the fist night, most of our food was overcooked. Drinks at breakfast were bland. Pool has a strong chlorine scent which means it is not that clean (chlorine on clean water is odorless) Nothing much to do during low tide No place for toiletries in the bathroom (for toothbrush, etc)

The staff here are absolutely amazing bunch of people. We were greeted so nicely by the whole staff with ice tea and our luggage’s were carried to the bungalows where they weighted a lot as we came from Europe for 3 weeks we had 25kg bags. The atmosphere was amazing you could really relax and enjoy your time here. When we were going scuba diving to see the coral reef the whole time a life guard was near just in case. Very professional and discreet not to bother anyone. When asked to try some local food we got surprised with a whole massive grilled local food prepared by the most fantastic chef. Staff decorated a beautiful setting just for us to enjoy their culture. It was just beautiful! Thank you all at Kaway! You made our stay just amazing and we have such good memories to have!

Kaway Resort is a great place to stay, offering clean rooms and well-maintained amenities. The serene and quiet environment makes it perfect for relaxation. However, I found the breakfast buffet a bit underwhelming. Given the above-average price, I expected more variety and options. The pool was definitely a highlight, especially since it was difficult to catch the high tide during our stay. The staff were exceptional—very accommodating, friendly, and professional, which added to the overall experience. The resort has a lot of potential, and the menu prices are reasonable, making dining on-site convenient.

Our first stay in Philippines, in Cebu, was carefully researched and we chose Kaway.||We weren't disappointed.||From moment we arrived, Star Elle Bryl Jia and the team were as much the most hospitable, engaging and friendly as we could wish to receive from our first Filipino experience. ||We stayed a few nights, landing at Mactan Airport and taking the long taxi ride in rush hour to Kaway....we paid pes5,800 through booking.com.|On return, the lovely venue charged us less than pes5,000! Bargain!|Useful information for the travelling through brigade.||On check in, a huge welcome (we arrived late because of traffic) and a nice home made refreshment drink.||We opted for a water bungalow room. On entry, received some complimentary banana chips and water. Our suitcases were carried by their porter as navigating the beams that lead out to sea might cause unnecessary damage. Nice touch.|We love the indigenous crabs that stand guard outside the room and sway in and out with the tide, but run for life if you so even as look at them! But beware of their toxicity....as too of jellyfish (which Kaway take great pains to warn you about) but never came in contact with.||The tide appears in for wake up, just in time for a morning/midday swim, then out for early evening, when locals arrive to harvest shellfish.||Room was amazingly spacious.|Extremely comfortable pillows and bed.|Balcony loungers comfy.|Efficient fridge with well selected mini bar.|Aircon working brilliantly.|Plenty of clothes storage space and a huge area for shower.|Well lit surrounds, even on balcony at night.|Free water fill up from the station in breakfast bar so bring your own refill receptacles..||Two pools, one for small kids, one infinity for big. Warm and not too deep. Well lit at night.||Food was nice, we probably would have liked more fruit options, but on our leaving (very early hours) they very kindly prepared a fruit platter and banana chips with bottle water.|The same menu during our stay offering us to sample a nice range of Filipino dishes as well as some modern western notorieties such as pizza, fries. We stuck to the Asian options and weren't disappointed!|The grilled pork was a dream! Crispy and charred - perfect - as was the nice array of vegetables on the chop suey. Very well prepared, delivery with a hospitable smile, in front of that night's entertainment....a duet one eve of light music and singers, another a solo artist singing retro modern tunes in background.|A beautiful ambience.|Watching sun go down, or sat by the poolside or just taking time with loved ones, Kaway offer so much relax and serenity as you want to take.||The staff make huge effort to engage with customers. You can be as engaging or non engaging back without judgement. |This can be a fantastic introduction to Filipino culture to share information and find out more about the opportunities for a more bespoke vacation for you.|We were so impressed with the level of attention to this, and credit to the staff all the way to the management for the amount of preparation and execution in this where some of us live in a world where personal service and hospitality are under appreciated.|A big plus for us.||Some things we think Kaway can take time to offer guests (forgive us if there is a cultural difference):|Hooks or coat hangers to hang up clothes, especially if wet. No wardrobe.|Glasses for water consumption.|Fruit menu options, as we were hoping for some fresh Filipino produce |Keep the no TV policy! It was so refreshing! ||Our last night was something to behold.|Unilaterally, we were treated to a romantic table on the beach with first class service and food with ambient lighting. The whole scene was very special to us and will hold in our memory forever. The table decorations was far above our expectations, but then so was our introduction to a Filipino experience.||Check out simple and professional.||Thanks for the extra communication post stay - they will know what we mean.|I would urge anyone whom is in the area of Cebu to check this place out.....we were seriously impressed, and will definitely swing by again one day !||Thank you for a...

My apo's 4th birthday was held here, dinner and family time. All parents with lil ones should be supervised by their parents or relatives. We encountered 1 child under the age of 5 with foul mouth and was unable to listen to other guests. Parents weren't around, he was with an older brother maybe and was looked after by one of the staff. Dinner was set up for us. Beef steak was actually not beefsteak, you can literally tastes the vinegar and flour in it. Their battered squid rings and sweet and sour fish were mostly made of batter. Pansit, you can tastes and smell the original scent of the noodles, they may not have washed them. Their lumpia were bite sizes and hard, maybe old stock. Prawns, was cooked but could not understand the taste.

And yet, they forgot to offer us any drinks or even forgot to set up the bare minimum, jugs of water..we had to ask them few times

On our breakfast, we asked for scrambled eggs but was told the cook was unable to grant us our request, simply because only 1 cook. A person would think scrambled eggs will be easier to make than sunny side up eggs.

For P8999 per night on a Friday stay, it was a waste of money and time.

Some guests are quite something...no further discussion on this

Love the set up, the cottages, fresh air and all In that sense Id pay premiums, but I hope your food will have a better tastes and better services...

This was just the place to commence a holiday - the over water huts are lovely and clean, reverse cycle cooling and exceptional wi-fi. No television but that is fine - internet was perfect for a netflix and Stan movie on PC and tablet. Staff are super welcoming and nothing is too small for them - just pick up the phone. The water is crystal clear and swimming off your private deck is perfect to unwind. The resort pool is clean and well tended with a separate children's pool. Food is tasty and plentiful. The price? A little over $100 AUD a night - a bargain! The sound of the water at night and breeze is perfect - there is hardly any road noise as you are far away from the road. The only downside is distance to the local town - but there is a courtesy bus and you can hire a motorbike for 500 pesos ($13 AUD) a day. Will definitely be back. Use a private driver to get there or arrange a pick up with staff from...
