This is the worst hotel I have stayed in my life after travelling more than 20 countries! We booked for Solea Seaview Resort but was assigned to Solea Mactan Resort Seaview rooms. There are plenty of children amenities here, however, the many swimming pools the water is not clean, dead insects floating on the water. The Inflatable water park is fun, but a lot of greenish color dirts floating on the water and it smells awful. The worst part is, one day we went to a whole day island hopping trip and locked my necklace in the room safe. When we returned back, we found the safe passcode was changed. We had to call hotel staff to help open the safe with their master key and found the necklace is missing! We reported to hotel immediately that night and they promised to check CCTV but not going to show us. There was no update until the next day morning when we go to the front desk to ask again. They found a senior manager to talk to us and attitude was extremely bad. They kept saying it is not their fault and even refused to help us call the police or lend a phone to us to call police as we don't have a Filipino number. They asked us to do whatever we wanted but it is not their business. I was very shocked by the attitude and service here given it is not a cheap hotel but a beach resort in a premium location. In the end, my husband and I took taxi to the police station to file the case ourselves. The investigator in police station was very nice, asked us in detail about what happened and followed us back to hotel to investigate immediately. The investigation went for quite long, we did not understand what they talked as they were talking in their language. The police asked us to leave earlier and promised to update us through the email we left.Later that night, our room had a electricity blackout. The power supplied to corridor and other rooms were fine as I can still see lights, but our room was blackout. After the blackout, hotel sent someone to check, and magically, the necklace was found behind the mini fridge.I will never stay in this hotel again. It is such a bad experience. And my whole family learnt something new. A safe in some hotel room may not be...
Read moreMy wife and I took our three young kids (younger than 7) to this resort. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and they had a baby crib they moved into the room. The restaurant also had a high chair which was helpful. The pools with waterslides were the big hit along with the splash park.||||Few things to keep in mind:||- The owner owns Solea resort which has combined grounds with Best Western. When we checked in, the receptionist initially mentioned we would have to pay to use the other pools that are more on the Solea side. I said that was ridiculous! After I disputed this, she rechecked the reservation and said we could use them. ||- Key thing to note though, the owner seems to be putting more focus and resources into the Solea resort||- Beach. They have a beach and when the tide goes out you see a lot of seaweed. It's not a swimming beach, but the kids had a lot of fun playing with the hermit crabs and they saw a sea cucumber.||- There's a small island off the beach a fisherman built and charges people to go to. It is unaffiliated with the resort and wouldn't recommend going. ||- Food is good, but the resort caters principally to Koreans so lots of Korean food. Synthetic juices - nothing fresh and no fresh mangoes even though you're in Cebu!||||Recommendations for the Owner:||- Don't "nickel and dime" people. We had a good time because we weren't "nickel and dimed" ||- The floors in the dining area are "oily" recommend some way to keep them clean||- Don't charge people to use the obstacle course. Looked like fun, but the price was too steep so we didn't try it.||- Include mangoes on the fruit menu. It's Cebu for crying out loud -...
Read moreI and my family stayed overnight in this property. Shared facilities with Solea are huge and perfect for weekend getaway of the family. Sadly, we came on the day of their busiest. The place and the facilities are so crowded, events are everywhere (even until midnight music are still loud),you cannot feel any sense of peace!||||Rooms with terrace are spacious and comfortable only the problem that we notice in both of our rooms are the bathroom, water pressure are weak, and no glass or anything to stop the water from bathing floor to wash basin and bowl place which makes the whole area always wet. ||||Breakfast is wide in variety and tempting in there well designed restaurant located in Solea. NOTE: Make sure to book a reservation with breakfast or else you will be paying 1200 per person in the restaurant. (which i found it so expensive for just a breakfast).||||Staff are accommodating and so helpful especially Ms. Marnelli of reservations. She is very professional and efficient. We've got a misunderstanding upon my arrival regarding extra person but she figure out and given me the most considerate decision with regards to it, so i highly commend her for that together with the lady reception staff who checked me in ( i just forgot her name) who just heard my concern at her best. ||||Timing of our stay is not just perfect, But overall our overnight stay was pleasant will definitely come back but not in the...
