We booked this hotel in Agoda, based off the pictures and the private location of the hotel. The pictures are probably taken years ago cause the hotel looks like a gimick preschool at the moment.

To our surprise the hotel was not closely similar to the pictures on their page. We were very disappointed with our overall stay that we had to cut it short and book a different hotel for the rest of our stay. The staff to begin with were very clueless and very suspicious, they acted as if it was their first day at work, the receptionist did not even try and offer additional "things to do". It was apparent they were short staffed, majority of the staff just filled in each others position.

The room given to us was not worth the money we spent at all, the bathroom tiles were moldy, the headboard was old and worn out. 200 USD for 1 night

The amenities were all in bad condition, the supposed freshwater pool has sea water in it, the pool tiles were slippery and sharp, covered in algae from not being cleaned and they had 2 pools both dirty. The water around the hotel is not ideal for swimming its covered in seaweed and during the mornings it gets really low tide

Being away from town proper they had several tours that consisted of different locations with a meal approximately 1,200 - 1,800 P (30 USD Max). Check attached flyer. The hotel offers to drop and collect you from the town proper free of charge once a day. Understandably, we asked them if we could be dropped off to the nearby beaches instead of the town for the day, cause we have been trying to do the most out of our stay, the person in the reception didn't even know the beach we were speaking of, and the female staff approached us and told us it will be 5,000 P (900 USD) to be dropped off there, with utmost disappointment we rejected their offer, but she continued to try and speak to the owner to decrease this price as we were only asking to be dropped off and collected before sundown, we were prepared to pay a reasonable amount for the boats fuel but the amount asked from this personnel was very unreasonable in comparison to a full tour. The whole situation was very suspicious, because we were asked not to pay or inform the receptionist in regards to the payment, which we found strange.

The only source of food around the hotel was their restaurant, we would order, take a shower and come back and the food still isn't ready, the food would be served cold multiple times as well.

The day before we checked-out we decided to settle the bills and inform them that we will be needing to be dropped off to town early to reach the ferry's departure time. They informed us that it will cost a further 1000 P to be dropped because it was too early for the free ride to town. This was my last straw, I regret booking this hotel, out of all the hotel I booked this was one of the most disappointing experiences I had during my...

Where to start....be careful of false promises

Firstly Isabella and Christian were lovely friendly staff who go out for their way to ensure you enjoy your stay.

However despite advertising the following on numerous accommodation websites including their own direct one, none fo the following exist:

  1. tea and coffee facilities in the room - non existent
  2. private beach - removed over 3 yrs ago but still advertised
  3. free shuttles to the main town of coron - they exist, there is a charge, and they are limited first is 8am, last 7.30pm
  4. no badminton court - yes they say it's offered
  5. no fishing- again, advertised 6)free watersports - kayaks are a charge as are snorkelling equipment when they have it.
  6. games room is boggle and books in reception
  7. only a single small pool - beware rooms with direct pool access have empty pools outside of them.
  8. lounge area - there are a total of 3 sunbeds and 4 chairs at the pool area which at best is 10m2. So a tight squeeze with more than one room present.
  9. no other social areas, as you can't walk or leave the premises and there are no other relaxing spaces on the island within the resort
  10. no housekeeping- despite telling us it was daily, no one came to our room to replace towels or top up toilet paper or replace drinking water once. And no we didn't leave a do not disturb sign outside.
  11. no manager or supervisor to discuss any challenges with. No one wants to take responsibility for anything. But are happy to charge you for everything. Cancellation fee is 60% when they say on the website it's only 15%.

If you'd like a room far away from town without easy access. A relaxing boat ride and don't mind a busy pool without walking far, then it is nice. However if you'd like to explore or venture around the area, stay somewhere else.

When we realised the activities and facilities were not as advertised, we requested to leave 1 night early to find them elsewhere, and were told we would still have to pay the full price for the final night. No Manager or supervisor ever came to speak to us directly in 3 days, and we had to chase constantly to get a result and leave early which was very stressful, and far from the relaxing escape we had hoped for.

Also if you are female beware of attracting unwanted attention from shareholders staying there despite trying to keep to yourself and stating you are not single. The general staff are lovely, and friendly. And the pool is nice, although a little small. But on the whole an experience I'd never do again for the price charged. There are nicer more spacious places in town that are...

RECONSIDER YOUR STAY HERE! Please read before booking. The staff here were great however management is the real issue. We booked the over water bungalow and only upon arrival was not told that it was under maintenance. We were issued a different room (even though we had already paid for the bungalow). It was only when we questioned our booking did they tell us. We later saw a couple move rooms to an over water bungalow that was supposedly under construction. Which was infuriating to see. The resort has a transfer boat to and from the island to the mainlands with great boat crew. The boat only goes to and fro a handful of times between 8am and 5:30pm so if you want to eat out anytime after 4pm, you cannot. They have set it up so you must eat dinner and breakfast at the resort. Especially if you do any island hopping tours or diving the tours begin at 8:30 and end at 5:30 meaning you are forced to take the first and last boats leaving you no time to eat out or collect food/drinks to bring back to the resort. The kitchen at the resort has a very limited menu. Forget being vegetarian or vegan. And of the limited menu, IF the food is available (quite often what you want is unavailable) it’s not great quality and costs over double what it would on the mainland. And don’t forget the 10% surcharge added to all items. Costing roughly 800 peso (880 with surcharge) per meal. If you order a cocktail don’t expect to get what you ordered. A pina colada is a bit of green cordial with some form of alcohol. Breakfast was included for us. However of the fewer than ten options to order from, more than four of them were unavailable. The egg meals come with one egg and you must pay extra per egg. The coffee is shockingly watery too. Again no vegetarian or vegan options. Not even Pescatarian either. If you’re hoping to snorkel or swim around the resort then don’t. It’s full of deadly box jellyfish from the mangrove and sea urchins. The pool was the best part of the resort. And the room we did get wasn’t half bad either. This resort has great potential however it was a massive let down for us. Again, the staff were wonderful so it’s disappointing to have to write this negative review. Plus no wifi in the bedrooms. Only common areas if...
