Mahogany Upland Resort — Hotel in Dauin

"Very affordable rates with a functional resto bar. Nice pool layout with a shaded kiddie pool area. Clean and the personnel are accommodating. It's just about 3-5 minutes from proper Dauin where a number of world renowned SCUBA diving sites are situated. They have an apartment type unit at a justifiable rate if you plan to stay longer and spacious cottages for walk-ins." This was my first review of the place.

I am now retracting everything. This place is as stupid as the owner. Where in the world can you find a corkage fee applicable per person (I will be checking this with the DTI). I will be checking if this idiots have the appropriate papers to transact/conduct business on our lands. I will also be consulting DOLE, as far as I am concerned, a lifeguard is required for any establishments with a pool (they definitely don't have one). It's a swim at your own risk and park at your own risk to add. In the first place going there is a hell already. There are a lot of places (the same rate as they are some are even cheaper in proper Dauin near the coastal areas).The entrance road is worst. The CR's don't have a running water. The staffs are idiot and uneducated. They don't know what they're doing. Obeying and agreeing to a foreign national that is stupid and worst makes one even more worst. The most unsafe place I've been in 11years I'm in the Philippines. A completely careless and incompetent western management who prefers trouble maker and sexual touching clients than families. ||||Explanation:||During a pool party at the resort a girl approached me and my gf, she took her beer and drank it while a guy came from the back and grabbed the leg of my gf, there was suddenly a group of 6-7 guys surrounding us... ||Long story short, almost got into a fight, no security around, we got out of the pool, told the waitress to call security asap, she just walked... After 5 min that nobody is coming I go to the waitress again and yell at her to get the security right away, she just walk away slowly...||Security and the owner arrived after 10min (walking slowly, not running, taking their time, not much concerned).||We explain the situation to the owner, his solution : move the table 3 meters farther from each other, apologizes and thank us for understanding... Seriously? How irresponsible are you? So you prefer to keep a bunch a drunk people causing trouble and doing sexual touching than us a family of 4 with a kid? ||We just took our things, paid our bill (no gesture from the place but that's a detail) and left or for sure there would have been a fight... ||||So if you like drinking other people drinks and touching their partner this is the perfect place for you as it will...

I don't normally leave bad reviews, but I do not recommend staying here. Unless you need a large swimming pool and don't mind anything else. The pool was actually split in areas which also defeats the size, and incredibly cloudy water. For the price (1300/night), I was surprised to find the room spoil, an old soap, nearly no toilet paper. The WiFi doesn't reach the room and there is no phone signal, the AC is very old, the neighbor was playing loud disco music 8am that made the walls vibrate (and the staff seemed unphased, so this might be a daily thing). And let's ignore the huge spider, hidden WiFi code, etc. Google mentions restaurant and there is even a menu photo: there is no food here and no breakfast. It is a 20-30 minute from town. I mentioned this to the staff and they simply said 'the photo is from a previous management', but then why not remove it? Or mention on the phone when booking that there is no food?
