Security Upon arrival they tell us to take all valuables with us if we plan to have the room cleaned. They said if you don't and it's stolen during cleaning it's not their responsibility. So to leave the property you either need to have two rooms, or take expensive stuff on your day trip. They have no safes.
To make matters worse the locks on all the cabin rooms are not secure. Yes we are able to open our room with a credit card because the blocker is towards the inside. The locks used are not meant for a front door. New locks required on all cabin rooms.
Grounds
Pool - I work for a swimming pool company The pool could be top notch but the hot tub and water fall have been left to go to waste and the pool is disgusting by North America standards.
The pool does not pass the clarity dot test at 6 feet let alone proper regulation. I asked them to clean the pool and they said it was clean. I tested the water it didn't pass chemical standards either.
Septic tank - the first 3 days stay the septic tank has been dripping water into the garden next to it causing an odor when walking past. Very minor but still disgusting none the less. It would get into our bathroom on days the wind didn't blow and it smelled horrible.
Ocean - A proper entrance to the ocean needs to be built. Even though there is no Beach having the ocean for snorkeling is fun. The current entrance works but only if your fully mobile. View of the ocean is incredible though from the restaurant. The place gets sunrises only.
Restaurant - for the price the restaurant serves poor quality food in small portions. (breakfast excluded) The French fries were store bought bagged fries. Bring the price down so people have Desire to relax and eat at the restaurant or bring the quality of food up. We had breakfast and snacks here and then decided no more. Restaurant needs to carry what is on the menu and have more variety for drinks, ever thing in the menu is out of stock except beer.
Rooms - Expect ants. We knew there would be ants and bugs this didn't bother us. But the fact that you have no raised surfaces or storage racks for suit cases is a negative that can be an easy fix.
Toilet - they added a seat bidet that does not match the toilet profile. As a large man it makes the toilet unusable. The original toilet seat needs to be put back on the toilet or at least one that matches the profile.
Shower - no currants. Not a problem. But we needed to keep the toilet paper out of the bathroom to prevent it from getting wet. The shower head needs to be soaked in vinegar or changed so it sprays properly again.
Location - it kind of sucks. Rent a car if you come to this resort. It's just far enough from bikini Beach and Tagbilaran that you can't walk. Expect 400 pesos to get into town or you can wait on the local bus for 15 pesos a person. We would walk to the highway and just flag a car down. They usually did it for 200 pesos to Tagbilaran or 300 to alona Beach / damauram Beach. All the other islands we visited had far more reasonable prices on transit.
Staff Super nice and friendly. Every issue we had except the pool was taken care of...
