I went to this place with family a week ago and we had a great experience with staff, restaurant, and amenities so I decided to book the family room for the following week just for the sake of trying and because my sister will also arrive from Manila.
They require 50% deposit for Php 13,000 room rate/night with free breakfast. We arrived Tuesday afternoon the following week and was led to the room after paying the remaining balance. The area was quite spacious - balcony and then dining adjacent to Cafe Frio and overlooking the highway. The room for 10 persons consists of 5 beds lined up like that in a hospital ward. I picked up one of the towels in bed and was a bit surprised that it was so small, thin, and had a hole in it. It rained hard and foggy but children still went to the pool and swam.
They provide vouchers for Wifi login but you have to be close to the restaurant for better reception. We tried to use our 2 Globe Home Wifi but never worked. There’s also no cell coverage here.
Dinner was good. We had chicken binakol, sinuglaw (note that the pork is fried instead of charcoal grilled), bihon, garlic chicken, lomi, and sisig. Plenty of food for 7 since 3 of our friends arrived so late. Binakol and lomi were great but bihon, sisig, and garlic chicken were salty and kind of sweet.
I then decided to buy 2 bottles of red wine. They don’t have plenty of options but it’s fine. We then decided to have desert at Cafe Frio and brought the wines there. Their cakes are delicious. We tried everything. Adults had fun with it with some wine. My daughter accidentally broke a wine glass and the staff cleaned it right away.
Jacuzzi was on and we enjoyed it from 7PM-9PM. We were the only family staying overnight so it seemed like we had the whole place to ourselves which was fantastic.
Breakfast was okay. We had to pre-select upon arrival at the resort which was a great idea. Nice view of the surroundings in the morning as it was clear. Checkout was smooth except that I had to pay Php 300 for the cheap looking wine glass that my daughter broke a night before.
Overall, the place is great. It’s clean, views are amazing, lay out and design is great and staff are all well trained. The room is quite expensive for the quality offered. If you can find an AirBnB or another place to stay that would be a better option. Or maybe it’s just my opinion since I have my own house in Kapatagan.😊 I would recommend this place for a day tour but not...
Read moreI've never had to leave a bad review for a hotel/resort before but this stay was absolutely ridiculous.
For starters the Wi-Fi TV doesn't work, I asked the staff and they said,"that's how it is." So you only get local cable. Which I thought was fine because they gave us wifi and I have plenty of stuff to watch on my phone, but then halfway through the night that stopped working.
The Jacuzzi or "warm tub" only feels warm because the rest of pool is always freezing and you have to go through the pool to get to the warm tub. If you go into the warm tub when you are dry it will still feel cold. It almost seems like they don't heat it most of the time to save on electric costs. This electricity saving was a common theme here. Even the shower didn't have warm water! For such a large expensive resort you would think they would be able to afford electric bills.
The rooms are small and don't have air conditioning or a fridge or microwave, the fan in my room was stuck on the low setting without the ability to change it, thank God it gets cold at night. The clouds rolled in and it got damp from the rain, I was finally able to cool off however the rain hitting the roof was so loud I was still unable to get to sleep!
I ordered food and it was very good, however the menu did not say the portion sizes. Every meal was enough for 3 people (and I'm used to American portions) and they charge you for every takeout box they give you. The staff did not feel inclined to warn us and didn't seem very friendly to begin with. The only friendly staff member was the one that sold us the room.
The karaoke was perhaps the worst part! All night long and in the early hours of the morning you can hear them singing! It was so loud we could not tolerate being in the restaurant and had the food sent up to our room even though we could still hear singing and we didn't have enough space to eat it. Even the music on the speaker at the pool was way too loud.
The only thing this place has going for it is the view but there are plenty of other places around with the same view. If you come here, do it for the two hours they allow you to be in the warm tub and be ready to be cold. Try the food but make sure you only order one menu item per 2 people. Do not spend...
