Here at Kawai Duli Beach Front is a blatant disregard for holy week, the environment and others. Throw a party by all means and enjoy yourselves; when neighbors come and ask you to turn the exorbitantly loud volume down late in the evening so people can sleep, please be mindful and respectful.

This is my second stay at Duli. From 6 pm on Holy Wednesday the 27th of March they played their extremely loud music recreating/selling their event as a Full Moon party (which already passed days ago) that lasted until past 1:00 am. The first time I stayed at Duli, they also threw a party with very loud reverberating music on New Year’s Eve until 4:00 am on New Year’s Day. On both nights, other guests and myself were woken up from sleep several times because of the sheer volume and thumping of their bass. As it was meant to be a quiet week in remembrance of Jesus’ death, at 11:00 pm we got up and walked over and asked if they could turn down their music but the guys behind the DJ set turned it even louder. I let them know how rude they were for responding this way and they even asked why I had to raise my voice—as if it wasn’t obvious that he could barely hear because of the louder volume they had! A guy who presented himself as the owner first said his name was George then changed to Darwin, claims he owned the property and had a permit to play this loud disruptive music once a month, but refused to show the permit. I tried to reason with him and asked if they could be considerate and turn the volume down so that we could sleep but he and the other guys with him said that they were partying and we should just join them or leave Duli. They kept playing their loud music throughout the night. Even if you wear earplugs you still hear and feel the music from the other end of cove.

The next morning you could see their mess in the beach, a dirty huge fire pit and tons of rubbish on...

Mabuhay,

My Fiancé, Friend and I, the three of us had a wonderful time there at Kawai Duli Bungalow.

The only problem we had was water flow in our issue one night.

However, the Water Flow of our Shower was fixed in a timely matter.🙂

Every Resort and Hotel will have issues, it’s a part of life.

Other than that, we did a few activities such as; Overlooking Views of the Island and Ocean, Caving, ATV and Beach BBQ.

There are plenty of other activities to do, it’s more of a personal preference and the activities above is what we chose to do while visiting El Nido, Palawan.

On top of our fun activities, we were invited to go to a Local Festival Celebration which is a part of Philippine Culture with lots of fun, loud music, dancing, food and welcoming conversations, we had a blast!

Just be ready when you are in the Philippine’s because it’s one of those most celebrated festival and holiday country which will fall into the next morning 😂. You will hear loud music regardless where you are visiting and staying. Loud Noise Curfews do not exist, so bring your Earplugs if you don’t like late noise creeping to the morning hours.

The Staff at Kawai Duli Bungalows was very friendly and attentive to our needs and wants.

Breakfast included while staying here, they even customized my breakfast which was very nice of them to do, thank you 🙏!

My Fiancé and I have already made plans to return!

Until next time, thank you, again, Kawai Duli...

The rooms look nice, but are sweltering, fly infested torments with totally fake aircon, no breakfast, and no Wi-Fi in real life. Purely symbolic aircon - maybe made the room <4 degrees colder than the sweltering outside, on “16 fast” for hours. Having aircon was literally the *only* reason I chose Kawai, and it’s fake. I turned it off entirely after the sun went down because there was zero difference and it’s both noisy AND pointless for cooling. And this was *after* complaining about the AC not working in the first room they put us in and being moved to this room with supposedly “better” AC. It was no better. Massive swarms of aggressive flies getting all over everything, everywhere. In the rooms, the kitchen, the bathrooms, the eating area, literally everywhere. And at dusk, you get flies AND mosquitoes. No working Wi-Fi in the rooms, only in the lobby / eating area. Be prepared to (badly) sleep sweaty and constantly attacked by flies, given the above two facts. They also only give you a full blanket, no top sheet, when the rooms are 30C with "aircon", so you can’t even cover yourself up to get away from the flies. The “included breakfast” is worthless, as they managed to be “out of breakfast” both mornings we were there. Not just NO view, but an actively bad view, featuring a dumpster, random trash, and a particularly ugly hay field. The food is very small portions, like 200-300 non-rice calories at most, and you have to order two 300php meals to get the equivalent of one meal you’d get anywhere else in PI, for every meal. And it’s “meh” 2x expensive food, not great or anything. The menu was pretty limited, and there’s basically no other restaurants anywhere, so you’re stuck paying double for every “meh” meal. NO WATER. I was so dehydrated every day. Not only no water for you in the room, they don’t have bottled water at the hotel *at all*, they don’t have bottled water at their beach outpost at all, and I don’t trust service water on remote islands bc island water and sewer treatment infrastructure is almost always sub-par. And if you’re surfing and in the sun at the beach all day, you need water. Ha! Just dehydrate, swelter, and get constantly attacked by flies, is their philosophy. Pros Location close to Duli beach Very nice shaded pavilion at the beach for Kawai guests, one of the only places on Duli with ample shade and lots of lounge chairs. The grounds of the hotel itself look nice, and are lit up at night (views are still awful looking out anywhere from the hotel tho). Aside from no aircon and infinite flies, the rooms buildout and furnishings were actually pretty nice. It’s a shame they spent there, but cheaped out so much on the fake aircons - now you have the expense of buying and installing non-working aircon, AND the operating expense, but without actually providing the amenity to your guests. It’s lose / lose. I made this 2 stars instead of 1 star because the staff was very nice, tried to move our rooms, and they were kind enough to let us leave and find a real hotel after the first awful night and refund the other 4 nights we’d paid for. Would have been 3 stars if not for the additional fake breakfast and no water things. In the unlikely event the owner ever reads this review, I urge you to research and install a solar + battery array - then you’ll be free of the unreliability and major expense of PI electricity + generator, AND be able to buy some real, working DC-DC or 240v mini splits and actually provide the aircon amenity. The payback is usually under 2 years, well worth it, because electricity is usually a resort’s biggest operating expense in PI. This plus some regular extermination / remediation for the flies and mosquitoes, and you could have a legitimately nice resort.

The staff was really nice, they have great internet and amazing food. A perfect place by the beach too. 3 mins walk to the beach where they have their own space with sun beds and covered. Beautiful room, everything you need. On the down side the water had little pressure and was slow. It was fairly hot not cold water. AC was good. Taken into consideration the location the facilities were great. Swimming pool was not working and that area was dangerous. They need to renovate that or close it to public. Overall a great place. I would go back. They were very nice and scheduled our food at our convenient times, even early in the morning to accommodate our tours or boat tickets. Happy place.
