We spent 4 days there. Quite sorry we didn't take out more nights. From the moment we arrived they made us feel at home with their smiles and affection. Both my partner and I have been in the hospitality field since ever and we can say that the level of service, professionalism and logistics is superior, even very difficult to get in big chains and very expensive places. Even before we arrived Vanesa took care of the logistics and made sure we were picked up at El Nido and the Teneguiban dock (which is no small thing). When we arrived with the boat we were greeted at the door of the hotel with the biggest and most sincere smile I have ever seen. The place is very, very quiet and you can see community life up close. Every day we saw how lovingly they treated the other people and even their animals, which they greeted every morning. They are a very hard-working family and they cook delicious food! It is worth noting that the price of their dishes makes no sense, they are extremely cheap and, at the time, it is the best Filipino food we have ever tasted (we highly recommend the Tuna Sigrid and the Spring rolls). Another thing to recommend is to take the kayak (quite heavy) and explore the coral out there. Also don't miss the sunrise! (We saw them all and one was better than the other). Definitely the best place we have stayed this year. If there would be a chance of rated 6 stars ones in life we would give em to Playa Encantada. Thank you very much once again, with a heart full of love. Matias...

Pack the books you’ve always wanted to read and enjoy your stay with Rochelle, Vanessa, and just a handful (!) of other guests.
Playa Encantada truly lives up to its name. About an hour’s drive from El Nido and fairly remote, you’ll experience a few peaceful and beautiful days. (Just keep in mind: there are no shops or ATMs nearby, and getting anywhere else requires extra transport.)
Not only will you be surrounded by animals (chickens, dogs, cats, goats, and pigs!), but you’ll also get to enjoy the best food we’ve had on our travels – and especially here in the Philippines.
For around 600 PHP per person per meal, you’re getting truly fantastic, freshly cooked, high-quality dishes. We’ve never eaten better. They truly understand how to layer flavors and spices – the fish was an absolute dream.
Rochelle, Alberto, and Vanessa’s family are genuinely special and kind-hearted people.
We were honestly sad we didn’t book more nights, and we already missed the amazing food on our very first day at the next place. We wouldn’t hesitate to return at the next opportunity.
I miss my favorite goat Sicho (?), who loved being scratched...
