We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights at the Microtel by Wyndham to accommodate us for a golf trip in the area. Not the first time. With heavy rains effecting the area and a number of the courses we were playing having to close we were forced to cancel our booking. We cancelled well before the 3 day cancellation required and sought a refund of the deposit we had paid. |This is where the disappointment set in. While Microtel were more than capable of accepting an electronic deposit taking less than 24 hours to process we were faced with a pathetic list of excuses as to why it would take two to three weeks to process the refund including the need to draw a cheque and post it to the recipient or get the clients details and do a manual deposit.|At this point I want to separate the behaviour of the lady with whom we dealt at reception and the policies and procedures this poor employee was expected to explain and justify by her management. |She was at all times patient, courteous and respectful.|Her management on the other hand expect her to justify out dated and commercially prehistoric practices while they remain invisible and absent.|Be aware therefore that even if you follow all the rules for a cancelled booking Microtel will respond at their leisure and, as frustrating as it is, the sacrificial lamb at reception is not empowered to do anything more than absorb a client's...
Read moreWe came here to inquire two weeks before my sons' biking event, we were in the area anyway so i've decided to check out the place personally. The location's perfect and suits our needs, the building's nice but from the facade itself, you would know it's a bit old and could use a little restoration. So i went inside and talked to the receptionist about my preference but as per record, they're fullybooked on the said date but accdg. to her, she would be taking note of my email and mobile number to inform me 2 days before the day that i require of any updates or if there would be any vacancy to accommodate us. We left positive and with that assurance in mind. The receptionist i've dealt with was very welcoming, cheerful and reassuring so i really relied on her promise. Unfortunately, no email nor text message or call came my way. It would have been nice if she had took a little time to inform me, with vacancy or not, cause i was really counting on her words having chosen their place as our first priority. For me, it was very unprofessional that she didn't keep her promise. Nevertheless, it was a good decision that i had also made a prior booking with another hotel, quite far from the events' venue, but in the end it turned out to be our saviour and the best choice cause we really had a great and memorable time...
Read moreI wasn't really expecting too much from this hotel especially when the rates are just around P3,000.00. However, I cannot help but compare this branch with MOA, Boracay, and Puerto Princesa where I previously stayed and by far Eagle Ridge is way below par from the aforementioned branches.
This hotel doesn't have a pool and other amenities. If you want to do activities you have to request for a referral from the front desk to the nearby Eagle Ridge Clubhouse to use their pool and bowling alley for a "FEE" and subject to its availability. I had to learn this the hard way. When we went there to go bowling, we were turned away because the bowling alley is not open to "outsiders" on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays since May 1, 2017 due to scheduled maintenance and bowling tournaments.
This is a hotel perfect for golfers looking to relax on and off the golf course. When we arrived last Dec 2, 2017, there was also a group of asian golfers staying at the hotel accompanied by local ladies.
What the heck, I shouldn't really expect too much when I only paid P3,000.00 right? On the bright side, I enjoyed my breakfast and the staff were...
