We spent a wonderful week with Anne & Derek in their lovely Tourist Inn in one of the best regions of Bohol. Even though the Tourist Inn is a bit of work in progress - with for example the pool are being added soon - we have almost nothing that we'd wanted to have differently.||||Transport: The tourist Inn is located in Guindulman Bay, reasonably close to Anda with its beautiful beaches. It takes about 2hrs with the local bus (120 pesos) from Tagbilaran to get to the Tourist Inn, but since that can be quite an adventure at busy times, I'd advice you to either get a Taxi or (which is even better) have a rental car with which you can go around to explore the island. ||||Location: Guindulman Bay and Anda are parts of Bohol that has been spared from excessive tourism. It is popular among Filipinos during the holiday season, but apart from that only has a couple of other resorts along the beautiful white beaches of Anda. From the Tourist Inn, Anda's beaches can be reached within an hour by trike (the filipino equivalent of a tuc-tuc) or more conveniently by your own vehicle. Derek also rents out his motorcycle for those that know how to drive one. Other sides that are to be discovered in this area of Bohol are numerous springs, caves, and waterfalls in the nearby hills/mountains, the beautiful coral reefs of Guindulman Bay (for those who like to dive or snorkel) and the chocolate hills (which are best approached on the way back to Tagbilaran)||||House: The house is by far the most beautiful one I have seen during my stay in the Philippines and was build with a great attention to details. It is located on a slope facing the sea which leads to a lovely sea breeze in the evening. The rooms are specious, well equipped in very clean. The two bigger ones both have a balcony with garden and partly sea view.||||Bar: The bar that is located in the garden and the place where we spent most of hour evenings. It is neither a place of excessive drinking nor loud music and party. It is rather a calm place where one can relax from the daytime activities, have a chat with Derek (who always has a story to tell), grab a drink, eat dinner, or just simply read a book. ||||Service: The service throughout our stay was great. The whole team, including Derek, Anne, and the two local employees are incredibly friendly and attentive. ||||Overall, I can warmly recommend this place to anyone in search for a little peace and quite. And one last advice: You'll enjoy it most if you see yourself as a guest, rather...
Read moreLOCATION:||We stayed for three nights and wished we had planned more time for this place. Our plan was to stay at Anda, somewhere directly at the beach, but most hotels were already fully booked. This is how we found Derek and Ann‘s beautiful tourist inn.||Looking back it was the best decision to stay in Guindulman instead of at Anda beach. It is a great location to explore the island by motorbike. You can do the chocolate hills trip, go to Anda or check out the waterfalls in the area.||By foot you can walk up the path behind the tourist inn for 20minutes and can take in the scenic view of the mountains which we actually enjoyed more than the view in the chocolate hills. Mainly because you have the place all to yourselves.||There is also a small beach within walking distance but it wasn’t really nice. We didn’t mind to ride our scooter to nearby Anda for our days at the beach.||We also checked out some resorts and the public anda beach and think we would have regretted staying there, because it’s extremely crowded and commercialized.||THE PLACE:||It is as beautiful as the pictures and even more impressive when you hear that everything has been made by hand and was designed by the hosts. Our favorite was the bar area where all guests relax after their day out, share their stories.||FOOD:||It was the best place on the whole island to get food so we always made sure to be back in time for dinner. After trying several Filipino as well as English dishes the phrase „delicious as usual“ was established... :D||THE HOSTS:||Derek and Ann were all around perfect hosts! They went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. It was fun listening to Derek‘s future projects for the place while having a beer and they gave us lots of information about what to do and how to do it.||||All around it was a 10/10 stay and I would definitely...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay with Derek and Ann for three nights, it was definitely our favourite accommodations in our three weeks journey in Philippines.|The location was perfect for us, who weren't intrested in partying in Alona beach. Totally diffent from that but definitely in a positive way. We loved to walk/hike up the hills, there were some mountais with terrific views to everywhere above. So beautiful and free!|Derek and Ann were both so kind, chatty and informative for us and really made us feel like home. They gave us some tips of secret beaches near by and options what else to do in the area. |Guindulman bay tourist in was wery easy to reach by bus from Tag and when we continued our journey to Ubay we just walked to the main road and get a coach. How easy is that? It was also easy to go to see the beautiful beaches of Anda by tricyckle. I suggest that to everyone!|It was sad to leave the place after three nights, but we're definitely coming back whenever we travel to Philippines.|This was our favourite spot in Bohol, where we visited also some islands and Panglao. |Place to relax and enjoy the 'holiday'. Plus the food made by Ann was the best of our trip. Still miss those...
