We made reservations for our immediate family consisting of 7-adults and 2-children. We were required to pay ahead of time via a deposit at a bank that the owners of the Enchanted River Rock Island Resort were affiliated with. Upon our arrival, after a long 12-hour drive, we were directed to a wood boardwalk, where we were required to climb into a Bangka (Philippine Boat) and then whisked out to Enchanted River Rock Island Resort, which was about a 10- to 15-minute ride. We were then provided assistance getting out of the Bangka and walked up a staircase, where we were directed to where we would be staying on a different island with a wood walkway between the two rocky outcroppings.||||While walking down the wood walkway, an individual decided to strike up a conversation with me, asking me where did we live and what nationality I was, only to learn at the end of our conversation that he was the new owner of this resort.||||What really surprised me was the bare living conditions that we were being placed in, with a bunk bed for my daughter and stepson to occupy and a full-sized bed with an over-sized mattress where my wife and I slept. There was no place to put our clothing, with the exception of a couple of shelves attached to the wall. We weren't provided any towels or soap and lucky for us, we had brought our own. There wasn't any sink in the bathroom...just a toilet (lucky for us, there was a toilet seat as we were informed just prior to our stay that there weren't any toilet seats to sit on when using the toilet) and a shower with a mirror.||||The dining room was separated into two sections. The first night of our arrival, they had ample food and drinks with desserts for our grand-daughters. The "free-breakfast" that they offered was just barely enough to consume and nothing special about it. When we returned from our first tour, to have lunch, they still had dessert for the children but, when we returned from our afternoon tour, there wasn't much food left on the menu to order. The staff at Enchanted River Rock Island Resort informed us that they had to go "into town to purchase more food for their patrons". There was a very large assortment of alcoholic beverages that I noticed BUT none of our family members consume alcohol. The owner was even seen consuming alcohol with his guests and, this greatly surprised me, as I have always been told that an owner never consumes his own items that he sells...otherwise, he's losing whatever he could sell to another customer that may desire to have something to drink.||||So, my overall impression of this facility is to steer clear of this facility as I am quite sure that you may be able to find a much better place to stay at elsewhere in the vicinity...

We actually stayed here August 2018 (TA drop down only goes back to Oct). We were on a road trip from Davao to Surigao City visiting Tinuy-an Falls and Enchanted River on the way. This place was pretty much half way so a good place to sleep over.||||The resort itself is pretty basic. There is a decent restaurant serving whatever fish is available. Not everything on the menu was available when we were but there but that is to be expected if fish is fresh from the sea. Better that than being frozen. The free breakfast was ok, not big but ok ..... and free ! You can buy extra dishes to make it more substantial if you like.||||The rooms were basic, but sufficed. There is a bar serving reasonably priced beers etc and karaoke. The music turns off around 11pm I think for guests wanting to sleep.||||To get there or back from the nearby barangay by pump boat costs 150 peso which is a little expensive. But I guess the owner wants to keep the locals happy and it keeps them included in the tourist trade and helps the local economy which is important. All to often a resort opens and the locals are excluded from any of the financial benefits.||||Is this place for everyone ? No.||||If you want luxury go somewhere else (good luck ..... Davao is a long way away)||If you are mobility impaired this is not going to be a good option but you should be able to see that from the photos !||||If you want to chill out in a remote location with nature all around this is just the place||If you want to eat seafood do come here||If you want to hang out "local" style this it||If you want to sleep over while visiting Tinuy-an Falls and Enchanted River I can...

The location is great, I booked this hotel for our family vacation, there's 12 of us so we booked 2 rooms 1 with 10pax and other room with 2pax that cost us 8k+ for a night. The staff were so friendly and so helpful, the manager helped us to get an order of cake for my brother's birthday, so accomodating and approachable. Here's the pros and cons during our stay. Pros: Approachable and accomodating staff Great view of the ocean Tap Water is not a problem Excellent AC to keep the whole room cold They're changing their walkway to a concrete one Free breakfast Good food

Cons: good for nothing or very limited signal on the island as expected but has Wifi connection but you need to bring coins as it is not free, worst connection with iphone phones. bathroom doors and sink are broken and or rusty restaurant is far from the accomodation. walkway is made of wood, it was raining, windy with lightning and thunder during our stay, it doesnt feel safe to walk on the long walkway with no roof and with kids so we asked if they could deliver our dinner unfortunately, they dont have someone to deliver the food so we have to go and get it on the restaurant. towels are first come first serve no convenience store but has a mini store for drinks, liqour, snack and souveniers. good for nothing life vest for kids rented for 30php. no generator for electricity.

**it is an island so you need to ride a boat, the boat cost us 600php per trip as we need to get 3 boats, they can accomodate 5pax in 1 boat.

Overall, the experience is good ,but not what we expected as...

From the airport drive 3hrs away to Hinatuan Surigao Del Sur, a lots of ways to travel either by bus or car rental, ask me and I can offer you a car rental and your guide you for free. When you get to the enchanted river you park your car at the parking area. You can watch live face to face on how they feed all the beautiful fish every 12pm and 3pm, daily visitors are minimum of 500 people sỗ every day a lots of people coming here to witness the beauty of this river and islands. If you want to catch the fish feeding make sure to be at the area 30minutes before start fish feeding, after thật afternoon feeding, were heading to the rock island to have lunch. The rock island resort offers accommodations and foods, it’s a nice place to stay specially group of people for team building and seminars coz it’s away from the crowd. The rooms are air conditioned and clean and foods are yummy exactly at the hotel. We’re we have lunch is the small restaurant entrance of thệ stairs of rock island not the hotel. Then going back to the river to catch the 3pm fish feeding and headed home.

This resort is great! Message them on FB to get better rates than online booking services. The rooms are what you expect on a private island in the Philippines. We stayed for 3 days and did not want to leave. The food at the restaurant is very good. The sunrise and sunsets are Epic! We will definitely be back. The owner is very nice and helpful with local knowledge. If you are looking for a place to "get away" this is it! The staff was super nice and helpful. We had 2 seniors with us and they loved it as well. Mom did not have any trouble with the steps there because they have good hand rails everywhere. We also rented a family room that had bunk beds which was great for everyone to share a room. We definitely will be reccomending this to our friends!
