We are a local Filipino in town for family business. Because of this conference we were attending, all hotels were booked. So we had to book a reservation for 4 rooms at this place to accommodate the family. We arrived at night and it was raining hard so the check in process was "rushed". Our room was on the 2nd floor and the stairs were more like a ladder than a set of stairs. The door to the room were sliding glass and could only be locked from the outside. Meaning someone always had to remain with the room or else it would be unsecured. Upon entry the room looked like something from a palace than a hotel room. Everything was white or black imitation marble with chandeliers for lights. There was this hideous white couch that looked as though it belonged in some wealthy mansion. There was a family portrait staring down at us of what we assumed was the family of the owners. "Weird". One large bed with a pair of seat cushions laying on the floor to resemble the 2nd bed. The AC was fine but a large square hole was in the wall where an older window unit AC used to be. They never closed the hole up and just covered it with wall paper. There weren't any toiletries at all and just one very small towel for 4 people in this room. Everything had to either be brought with us or purchased in town. A door adjacent to ours lead into another room and there was a large gap which allowed those people to hear and see us as well as us being able to do the same. The shower did NOT have a functioning hot water and when we inquired about it they told us that for 300 pesos we could have our water heated for each day. The next day we were greeted by an army of ants that easily invaded the room from the hole in the wall and sliding door. We were told that we couldn't eat in our room! Why they even assumed that was beyond me since there wasn't even a chair or table to prepare food or sit down to eat it. We decided to leave and return home which was an hour away! What a completely horrible and unfriendly place this was. If anyone is traveling through here, please keep driving when you...
Read moreWorst hostel experience I’ve had. Avoid this place. It was already dark when we arrived in Hinatuan and this was the closest we found from the terminal. We paid 2000 pesos per night whilst there were plenty of cheaper and nicer hotels a few distance ahead from the bus terminal. The room was actually photogenic when the landlady took us in. She took our payment right there and then in the room without giving us a receipt or anything we could sign on. First of all, we didn’t feel safe sleeping at night because the sliding door was only made of thin glass draped over by cheap blinds. There was even a hole right above and beside the bed, covered only by some sort of poster where a human could break in. Second, the owner would charge for towels (luckily, we brought our own). Third, the heater was broken so we had to endure cold baths every morning and night. Also, there were NO toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, and soap provided in the bathroom. The bin had no trash bag as well. Fourth, the owner didn’t give us a key to our room. When we asked for it, they asked for a ₱300 deposit. RIDICULOUS! When did that become a thing?! Anyway, an old woman—we call her nanay, was the caretaker of the property and was the only light in that place. We hope she got out of there and found a much, much, better job. Lastly, the property is a hostel NOT A HOTEL. So proud of them to call it a hotel when it was very far...
Read moreThe hotel is a short distance outside of town so phone signal was very bad with globe network. There was no WiFi either in our room upstairs so the big smart tv on the wall is just for decoration purposes as could not stream anything.no electric kettle to make coffee or tea either, its disappointing after long drive not to be able to make some coffee ☕ anyway i paid 2,500(38 euro) pesos for a room with Aircon and electric hot shower. The Aircon in the room was good but electric shower didnt heat the water so that was disappointing. The lady of the house cooked breakfast which cost 400 pesos for 2. Plus we had an evening meal which also cost 400 pesos for 2. The room was big with a large bed but the room could do with a desk or table or bedside lockers. Theres good space to park van just off busy road. The staff are friendly. No in house wifi is a big minus these days for any hotel or...
