I have been living in Boracay for nearly 20 years and often travel through Ibajay on my way to Iloilo, yet I had never noticed nor heard of this hotel before. The village of Ibajay, where the hotel is located, is rather unremarkable and one wouldn't expect to find anything extraordinary there. However, Hotel Jamins stands out as a remarkable exception in this modest provincial town. It's a first-class establishment that took me by surprise during my initial visit. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine finding such a high-quality hotel in this "Nowhere Land," especially considering that even the nearest larger city, Kalibo, doesn't have a hotel of this caliber.
The hotel is impeccably maintained, spotlessly clean, and fragrant with an aroma reminiscent of top hotels in Manila or Boracay. It is situated directly on the beach, which has black but powder-like sand, and the best part is the privacy—you practically have the beach to yourself. It felt like a scene from a Robinson Crusoe film, with the hotel serving as an oasis of civilization and luxury amidst the simplicity of the province. I found this contrast particularly intriguing.
The swimming pool is somewhat warm due to its shallow depth, but I found it pleasant. At times, I even thought I was the hotel's only guest, which suited me well since I'm not fond of crowds and noise. For those seeking tranquility and peace, this is the perfect retreat.
The only slight drawback was the poolside service, which was non-existent. It seemed as if no one had anticipated the use of the pool. I had to return to the reception to order coffee, water, and a light snack, which was then promptly delivered to the poolside. The quality of the service, like everything else, was top-notch.
The hotel's property is rectangular and, though quite long, appears somewhat narrow due to its length, resulting in a small beachfront. However, guests can venture beyond the hotel's beach to wander on the nearly deserted and pristine stretch of sand upon which the hotel is situated. This is where the stark contrast is most palpable: stepping out from the five-star hotel, you find yourself in a province devoid of kitsch and mass tourism, almost as if in untouched nature.
The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. I will wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel to everyone I know because it truly deserves...
Read more|I recently had the chance to stay at Jamins Hotel in Ibajay, and it turned out to be quite the experience! I was traveling solo and needed a place for an overnight stay on Jan 5th due to the blackout issues in Aklan. I needed somewhere to continue my work, and Jamins Hotel came to the rescue.||First off, the room was more than I expected. It was spacious and offered a stunning view that blended the hills and the sea – a real treat for the eyes. The bathroom was a highlight with its complete amenities. But the coolest feature? A touch screen on the mirror to adjust the lights. Talk about high-tech!||The staff, Abby and Jayson, were stars. They were super friendly and made sure my stay was comfortable. Food-wise, I have to give a shoutout to the Jamins burger and the breakfast – both were absolutely delicious and set me up perfectly for the day.||Now, it wasn't all perfect. The Wi-Fi in the room was a bit of a letdown, as I had to move to the lobby or dining area for a stronger connection. Also, a bit of a safety concern – the door from my veranda didn't have a lock. That's something they'll hopefully fix soon.||The hotel's pool deserves a special mention. It's spacious and overlooks the ocean, offering a perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Ibajay.||Despite a couple of hiccups, my overall experience was positive. I'm even considering bringing my mom here for a staycation. It's a great mix of comfort, stunning views, and friendly service. Definitely a place to keep in mind if you're in Ibajay and need a cozy, modern...
Read moreA total disappointment for a 5-star hotel. When we arrived at 4 p.m., we were greeted by an employee in sweatpants. No one was present at the front desk. The staff was unfriendly! I come from the hospitality industry and have lived in the Philippines for 5 years. I'm open, friendly, and respect everyone, but what's going on in this hotel is catastrophic. There's no manager. We were the only guests. The room was perfect, the surroundings were poorly cleaned, the pool was catastrophic, probably last cleaned weeks ago, green mold was already forming, the bubble system wasn't working, there was no chemical in the water, it was a sewer! The whirlpool was catastrophic, out of service for months. The prices were exorbitant. Cappuccino 180 PHP, not even a glass of water was given. Employees who played ML loudly in front of the guests at the entrance. No go! I don't recommend this hotel to anyone, it's a...
