Stayed with family at their Japanese villa over the Holy Week. The room is lovely and spacious, with a well-maintained private garden and a very relaxing atmosphere. The pool is definitely the highlight of our stay. It was beautiful, very clean and kid-friendly. The Aviary restaurant serves the best baby back ribs in the region. ||||The buffet breakfast, however, was a major let-down and seriously needs to be improved. We were reminded by the front desk staff of their strict breakfast policy (until 9AM only but guests are advised to be early since the food may run out) twice, upon check-in and while claiming our breakfast coupons. After a late night at the pool, which by the way closes at 10PM on weekends and 7PM on weekdays, we forced ourselves to wake up earlier than we would have done during vacations, so we can be at the breakfast area by 7:30AM, only to be greeted by a cheap and unappetizing selection of food - rice, loaf bread with cheese and pineapple jam, cheap hot dogs (the thin low-cost ones), hard boiled eggs, ampalaya which tasted too much of pepper and seasoning (with hardly any eggs, onions and garlic), chicken adobo made up of small chicken parts which seem to be leftover cuts from their restaurant (neck, skin, bones, very minimal meat), small slices of watermelon and pineapple, orange juice (from powdered juice), coffee. We were there quite early and there were only a few portions of the breakfast fare available. It took them a long time to refill. We also had to wait for several minuted for the coffee and juice to be refilled. They already knew the number of guests so they should have prepared for this in advance. It would have been better if they offered a plated breakfast with proper food choices than giving us unappetizing and inadequate food. If the management is reading this, please improve your breakfast fare. Your guests deserve better! It's certainly not worth the almost Php 4000 room price and 300 charge for excess breakfast.||It's just a good thing that they have a beautiful pool. We may come back just for the pool alone and avoid checking in again unless they improve their...
Read moreBest place to go to for excellent food and accommodation and coffee when in Koronadal City!✓ Superb food and restaurant (awesome places): Filipino, Asian and western. Best venue for dining with a very cozy ambiance. Price level: just fair enough for food in big servings! They have the The Farm at Carpenter Steakhouse for the picky carnivores. Their Vegetable salads and seafood menus like the Grilled Salmon are unforgettable! They have Aviary Bar and Cafe too! Different ambiance, different menu selection but the same classy resto experience! Yeah, they serve very generously! ✓ Good accommodation (Hotel and Villas) facilities: Their Japanese Villas are rad! The minimalist but cozy rooms are loaded with amenities. These individual villas are the best option for those who need real privacy for their stay. They have the Japanese Courtyard Hotel too! Same luxurious-looking rooms that are priced fairly. Best option for those who want luxury at an affordable price. You will enjoy the outdoor feel of the surroundings too. There's the japanese zen garden and bonsai garden for silent moments while being surrounded with greens and the gentle chirps of avian friends. ✓ Good coffee! My go-to for consistently perfectly brewed...
Read moreStaying at The Farm has always been pleasant , friendly staff , rooms and toilets are equipped with the necessary stuff you need. Room rates are a bit over average (compared to the newly opened eighty eight hotel) . But I guess you can't compare as The Farm has a sprawling area as compared to the new hotel mentioned above. That's the good side of this story . Now the bad side of it , as you enter the their sprawling compound you will see this huge newly beautifully constructed structure , well lit at night with glass surrounding it as you get to see the inside . Their newly built " STEAKHOUSE" at first glance you won't hesitate to enter and order for a bottle of red wine that will surely compliment your steak. Here's my advice. Don't order the steak. It's was TOUGH! The manager didn't face as and the waiter trying to apologize and at the same time as per the chef's recommendation to have the steak cook rare or blue next time. Sad to say I took a course in hotel and restaurant back then and he didn't know what he was talking about. |To stay at The Farm is recommended ( not highly) but to eat at their...
