Our 2-night stay at Parada Beach Camp turned into a challenging experience that unfortunately led us to leave EARLIER than planned.||The free transfer was convenient in theory, but the execution left much to be desired. We waited over 30 MINUTES IN THE SUN and spent MORE THAN ONE HOUR on the boat waiting for two other guests. While it’s hard to complain about a free service, the delays meant LOSING ALMOST A ENTIRE DAY TO REACH THE CAMP. The boat ride itself was quite adventurous due to strong winds and waves.||Once we arrived, there was a noticeable LACK of communication. We weren’t informed about activities, restaurant hours, or who to contact in case of an emergency, which left us feeling unprepared. Unfortunately, the island-hopping tour—which was the main reason we booked—was UNAVAILABLE. Guests planning to stay should be aware that weather conditions can significantly affect their plans.||The night was particularly uncomfortable. The loud wind made it hard to sleep, and to make matters worse, we found a 15 cm LIZARD in our TENT when we went to the bathroom. While this might be part of the remote island experience, it was quite unsettling for us as Europeans, who aren’t accustomed to such encounters.||What ultimately led us to leave early was the dangerous decision to send us back to Sibaltan on a small fishing boat, despite strong waves. This felt reckless and made us FEAR FOR OUR SAFETY and the safety of our belongings.||On the positive side, it’s admirable how the owners have managed to build such a remote and unique accommodation, and the staff were kind and willing to help. Read moreOur experience at Parada Beach Camp was mixed. Overall, we felt the price-performance ratio didn’t match, and we wouldn’t return.
Positives: ✔️ Peaceful and secluded location, right by the sea and surrounded by nature. ✔️ Tasty food, though limited options and relatively pricey due to the remote location. ✔️ Beautiful overall setting. ✔️ Transport is arranged.
Negatives: ❌ Despite the name “Parada Beach,” there is no actual beach on-site—you have to walk 30 minutes to find one (which is very nice!), but no staff informed us about it. ❌ Many dogs roam freely—if you like dogs, it’s fine, but they urinate on bean bags and jump into the pool, which we found unhygienic. ❌ The tents, though relatively new, were already moldy. ❌ Poor communication from staff—you get no information unless you persistently ask. ❌ Activities advertised on the website were not available on-site. ❌ Only few hammocks and loungers without cushions (fewer than the number of guests) ❌ Only three shared showers with toilets, often occupied by staff. ❌ The owner spends most of the time smoking and gaming in the lounge, while the staff is disinterested on their phones. ❌ The journey from/to El Nido takes 4-5 hours with long...
