We booked 2 rooms... one for 1 night and the othe for 2 nights... both room was disgustingly dirty upon arrival. We were allocated to room 4 and 5. Room 4 the bed duvet and pillowcases were stained with what looked like large patches of dried sweat. There were cobwebs with spiders in the corner of the rooms, Dirt, dust and gecko poo on windowsill, in room and bathroom, no toilet paper, no drinking water was supplied which was advertised. The kettle was filled with water and had a film growing on the top of the water - no idea how long the water had been there or how fresh it was. When we opened the sheets in the bed in room 4 there was a small ants nest inside - at this point I requested to change rooms. My wife and I showed the lady staff member all the cleaning problems in both rooms, she was very apologetic and we were moved to room 3 which was equally as dirty but at least had clean bed sheets. However, no drinking cups or coffee mugs, and a towel that was totally shredded. They advertise a 'river view' but there is no river in sight apart from a tiny rubbish filled creek to which we were told 'they are working in the river'||||In the morning we again expressed our disappointment to the same lady staff who again was exceptionally nice, and we showed her all the dirty conditions on both rooms 3 and 4.||||For the amount of money paid, and what I can get elsewhere for the same rate, I would never stay there again not would I ever recommend it to anyone.||||The only saving grace was the nice lady to helped us, however it was very evident that she has heard these complaints before and did not seem at all surprised.||||I needed to continue to Manila and my wife and daughter did continue to stay for the second night we booked and they did clean everything we showed them in the room. However it should never have been up to us to show them how and what needed to be cleaned.||||No offer of any compensation or even a gesture of 'next time you come back etc...' only a lot of 'I am very sorry'||||I hope the owner would be kind enough to reply to us.||||Be aware of what you are booking - looks nice on the outside, but completely different once...
Read moreWe arrived at this establishment after traveling for 3 hours only to find no one in the office which had the lights off. We waited but had no idea who was in charge. Finally a lady walked up, opened the doors to the 2 rooms we reserved, then walked away. We were not given keys to the rooms. We stood confused for a moment before I went to find the lady again to ask for keys. She told a barefoot young man to get our keys which he did hand to us, after which he walked away. We were flabbergasted. Feeling uncomfortable, we asked to speak to a manager. We were told she was taking a bath. Wow. After conferring for a bit, we decided to leave and ask for our deposit back. When we knocked on the manager’s door again, we were greeted by the manager. We told her what transpired, told her we were leaving because of how uncomfortable we were with the “check-in process”, and asked for our deposit back. She refused by way of asking us to stay at least one my night. We declined her offer and decided to stay at King Royale Suites instead. We were so disappointed with our experience at Pension Glaydie given the good reviews we read about it. Oh well,...
