Good -Park like setting, pet friendly, many nice pools to use. Couple villa has own little pool surrounded by plants for privacy. Air-conditioned room. Warm shower water, local drinking water provided. Eating area inside room, ref and sink. Gated entry with gate guard. Provided breakfast, portions are local but quite filling. Plenty of onsite parking (watch out for coconuts above car). Golf cart with driver available but the walk is really short and mostly flat. Toothbrush and amenities provided. Ants and bugs are typical so not an issue (bug spray recommended for foreigners). Employees welcoming and very responsive and well groomed. Room service (took for all meals).Bad -lack of food menu in room with room service offered, housekeeping called Butler but not. Provided cell phone with load, load expired initially. Updates every 6 hours to phone via text message. 80% of time housekeeping could not be reached. Menu once either found on web site or brought to door many things not available and size of portion not clear. Food cold sometimes upon delivery and or not taste very good, food service is slow. Bar soap provided is nice but small (cut down from a larger bar). A bit of a drive to anything else nearby and not much else found to do here.Ugly -Breakfast order lost on last day to check out, was placed 6PM in person at door night before. If had not called would not have been provided (since we had pet with us, opted for room service) Housekeeping light not working at front door to make up room. Ref compressor noise. Sometimes arcing / hum noise coming from electrical panel. Expectation of vacationer not in alignment with profit margin site manager is attempting to generate from each stay. You are left with a feeling of overpaying for a level of service that was lacking and this felt in relation to how the business just seems to be run. Arrival was overwhelming (good) but departure needs...
Read moreI will only comment on our spa experience as our experience with their other amenities was beyond expectation. I wanted to be pampered from head to toe but the list of their offerings for the spa is limited, mostly just including body massage, foot massage and mani-pedi. I wish they had facials too. As this was a huge resort, I was expecting a whole building dedicated for their spa offerings but when we got there, it was just a room with a cramped hallway that acts as a receiving area and 2 enclosures with 3 massage beds, 1 bed in 1 "room" and 2 beds on the other (no privacy as you can hear conversations between walls). I had to share a massage room with my sister in law but wondering if this happens if 2 strangers wanted a massage at the same time and the other room is occupied? I have had massages before with beds covered in warm, heavy blankets but what they had was just a towel on their beds and no cover for you when you lay prone on their beds. The masseuse came in and covered me with a not so warm towel, not even enough to cover me from neck to toe. The hot stones provided some warmth but not for the entire session. I had the same towel for the entire 90 minute session. My mom and I availed their mani-pedi. I had high expectations on this one too as I was expecting a set up like in a nail salon but no! We sat on a bench in that cramped hallway and they did it right there with a spotlight on our hands and feet so they can see in an otherwise dim room. The nail polish selection didn't have a good variety either. For the price, I really wanted a top notch experience but this is money down the drain. Spend it...
Read moreKudos to the marketing team who made the resort very enticing to go to on their facebook page.. out of curiosity and high expectations we booked an overnight stay with the welcome treat promo (2024).. t'was a good thing we booked it with discount because honestly if we paid full for the experience we had, I would really get so disappointed and pissed..
Pros: staff are very helpful (the ones assigned to our room).. special mention to chef jake and chef kim who made our stay memorable.. with their outstanding service I almost decided not to make this kind of review ..I dont usually make bad reviews by the way.. rooms are clean -included breakfast is great
Cons: tio berto's restaurant has so many flies.. the room has so many mosquitoes.. pool has ice cold water though the staff are very helpful they lack communication.. I feel sorry for those people who keep on coming back to our room because our requests were not properly relayed -overrated, too expensive -place is not worth the price
*again, this honest review was based on our experience.. maybe others had a nice stay but not us.. I want to thank again the staff of Tio Berto's for being friendly and attentive.. to Chef Jake, we truly appreciate your kindness and...
