Mediterranean House Restaurant & Hotel — Hotel in Nasugbu

Honestly, we were so excited to visit and spend overnight there during the holy week because of the reviews we've been reading ranging from average to excellent. The owner is very accommodating and very willing to assist who answered our calls for queries and attended to our reservation right away. Though there were several confirmation emails flying around since the reservation staff is sending incorrect details several times as well. ||||We checked in a bit late at around 6pm because we were caught up in a heavy traffic in Tagaytay (check in time was supposedly 3pm). Took that route all the way from Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas coz we are not familiar with Talisay-Tanauan and other shortcuts. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by hotel staffs who were in all smiles and were very friendly. The place is nice and cozy as well. We availed the family connecting room, perfect for a group of 6 with 1 kid free of charge. Room rate was Php 5,500 with breakfast for 6 and extra beds for 2 since it can only accommodate 4pax who can sleep comfortably. But beforehand at the time of our reservation via email and sms, the owner and I have agreed to personally arrange on the day of our visit, if we'll avail extra beds or not. I was informed also that room rate without extra beds and breakfast for 4pax only would be Php 4,800. So when we got there, we decided not to avail the extra beds so we'd be able to save Php 700. The staff gladly assisted us to our family connecting room (room 9 & 10 as far as I remember, with a door which literally connects two rooms). Room 9 has 1 double size bed and Room 10 has 2 single size beds. 3 of us (one of which is a kid) occupied room 9 and the remaining 4 at room 10 (2 persons in one single size bed). Both rooms have individual comfort rooms and kitchen sinks. To our surprise, unfortunately there was no water in the faucet. Have raised and followed up this issue to the staffs several times but glad it was eventually resolved after an hour. Since we are all dead tired, we called it a night. ||||The following day, we had our breakfast in their restaurant. Since meal inclusion is only for the 4 of us, we availed additional buffet breakfast which was priced at Php 300 per head. But we told the waitress that the owner confirmed to us it was only Php 250 per head (I even asked the receptionist the night before just to be sure). So she confirmed it with the owner again. We were also saddened as the variety of foods in the supposedly first meal of the day buffet were not immediately refilled after being consumed in the first round. We were kinda disappointed aside from the fact that buffet price is not clear and no food yet is available for our second round. The waitress then served a plate of daing and tapa in our table to somewhat ease our disappointment. After having breakfast, the owner handed over the change for the buffet we paid and price was only Php 250 per head. ||||Afterwards, we had a morning to noon dip in their swimming pool and jacuzzi which we absolutely loved though the water's cold. The place is also perfect for photo ops due to greekish ambiance. ||||We checked out at around 1pm. We were extremely upset as our remaining balance has additional Php 600 - charge for 2 extra persons in our room. Our point was we should have been informed ahead of time of this policy and staff should have recommended that availing of extra beds is a better option. Why would we pay for something we did not even use? The fact that we shared beds and slept uncomfortably thinking that it would be less costly on our part was raised as well. It was even stated in the confirmation details that Php 300 per head would be charged for persons who availed extra beds without breakfast, and not Php 300 per head for additional persons without extra beds and breakfast. Conversations went on but we ended up paying half of Php 600 so we can head home already. ||||Pros:||- nice and cozy place||-budget friendly accommodation||-accommodating and very friendly owner and staffs||-Greekish ambiance - gives me a taste of Greece and countries across Mediterranean ||-they have jacuzzi ||||Cons:||-unorganized reservation staffs sending numerous confirmations via email with incorrect details||-no water in the faucet (on our first night)||-not much activities aside from swimming||-small rooms and comfort rooms||-with basketball court before the hotel entrance ||-staffs are not well trained when it comes to prices and other related stuffs||-with hidden charges...

Our relatives from baguio decided to have a vacation at batangas and invited us to come with them. And knowing that we're going to batangas, they thought that staying at this hotel is will be very near to the beach but it is not. We've checked in around 5pm. Given that our relatives come from baguio they have a lot of luggages but there is no staff attend. Btw the parking lot is too small it can only accomodate up to 3-4 cars. The room isn't great at all. The room is too dark, the facilities in the room is absolutely low class. The cr have 2 shower but the other one isn't working. ||Around 6 pm we've decided to swim. Pros is that they have a jacuzzi. I can't explain the taste of the water in the pool but i know for the fact that it isn't good, we can't even open our eyes under water beacuse it actually hurts. I don't know what they have put in the pool, maybe too much clorine or they haven't changed the water for too long. Another pool has a lot of insects.||We have a free breakfast. One person can choose one meal, weather it is continental breakfast, american, asian etc. The menu stated that the meal has 2 eggs each order but when they served it, they only gave us 1 egg per person. I'm actually mot dissapointed because of the egg but what i hate about the breakfast is the service. I believe that the staffs aren't trained at all. They have over priced food and it is not totally not worth it. ||Btw the bar at the pool is a total mess lol. It doesn't look like a bar. Seriously. They don't even have...

Bad Points:|1. Toilet bowl was clogged upon arrival. Even the room we transferred to had a clogged one! No maintenance staff on call to fix this.|2. No available TV box in the room we checked in.|3. No Wi-Fi and no mobile signal in room!!!|4. Room was poorly lit esp. the sink area. Ceiling which was painted black made the room even more gloomy.|5. Water pressure was too weak.
