F & C Guest House — Hotel in Negros

A good budget hotel. Clean and convenient.||||1013208392||||While I wait for my roommate to open his eyes and cease snoring I might update my review of the hotel.||The room is compact with two single beds, a small desk, mirror and wardrobe. Timber floor. One small high window with curtains that looks out into a hallway. There's a hall light that nicely illuminates the room through the curtains. The flat screen telly above the window doesn't work.||The Aircon is modern and very quiet.||The bathroom is one of the best we've come across on our quick tour of Negros. No toilet seat, but otherwise fine.||The two single beds are clean. Mine has a very soft and springy mattress and a seriously disconcerting list to port.||The walls appear to be made of concrete, but they don't seem to dampen any sound from the surrounding environment. Most intriguingly there's a very loud and mysterious noise like furniture being dragged about the floor above. It stopped at about 10:30 last night but started again early this morning - thankfully it is almost drowned out by my roommate's snoring.||||Room review update (1):||Just stubbed my toe on the jolly step into the bathroom. ONE STAR! Deep breaths. Okay. I'll survive.||||Room review update (2): Mystery solved! Two hundred noisy steel chairs on the tile floored function room directly above our room. It has been a great pleasure knowing that Canlaon indeed has a nice place to stay and that can accommodate to the family whom wasn’t used to live the life as local (lomad) as I am.||Unfortunately something less expected happened when the said place failed the security measure to its avid guest. ||My husband lost all his Peso bills and some SGD money while he was away.||Their CCTV camera only focused at the staircase not at the hallway so no one can point who was the culprit. To us F&C is a home away from home...where it should safe. We patronized F&C for five years, as I am from Canlaon. ||The manager was so defensive even yelled on us and saying "we're maybe doing drama" and the amount wasn't that huge. As if they are blaming us why we leave our stuff behind. I am talking about safety and security. Full responsibility as they have the full access to our belongings when we hand over our room key to the front desk. ||So be vigilant and cautious around their vicinity as they might be cuddling syndicated thieves/robbers. Hope nothing...

The only accommodation in Canlaon City that allows debit and credit card payment. But because of the unstable Internet connect in the city, you might consider settling your bills at an earlier hour (before 7am) to make sure the transaction is successful.

The price is reasonable given its strategic location. A stay in FnC includes free breakfast for airconditioned rooms so you won’t have to worry about where to eat in the morning.

The guesthouse also has their own restaurant and bar that’s open from 7am to 9pm (or 10pm?). It also has its own convenience store so if you forgot some essentials or you just wanna munch on something, everything is readily available to you.
