Samba Beach Resort is ok. All the staffs there were good. My son and I did not checked in, so I can't comment on their rooms. We just enjoyed the INFLATABLES there. However, I am just a very little bit disappointed to the cashier because I ask for ORIGINAL RECEIPT, my son and I were so excited earlier to dip in the beach that we did not notice that what the cashier, Ms. A.M. VERGONIA, has given us was only a REPRINT of the SALES INVOICE POS. (I don't know where is the original. Why is it just a REPRINT?) Anyways, if that was THEIR OR, as she said to me, who am I to judge. I just realized that what I have is a REPRINT when I checked the document at home. I just have this hobby of collecting OR so that all my documents can be verified by any governing bodies if one day it became deemed necessary. On the other hand, the beach there is really good. Very clean water, the food at the Floaters Cafe is excellent (there's just too many cats), the PUBLIC shower room is gigantic (not spotless clean but definitely cleaner than all the beach shower rooms that my son and I have been to), the 4 swimming pools are amazing especially the one with the water falls (there's just leaves floating over the water because of the many trees surrounding it), and the KAYAKING experience is amazing. The inflatables are really great. They said they are MAINTAINING the inflatables today, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, so we asked if we could just at least take photos and they allowed us. We only SPENT 25 minutes there just to experience it and have fun. We don't want to disturb the maintenance there (I forget his name, I think it's Eric) because he was really nice. The security guard (Sir Ortega) and the personnel who show us our open cabana near the beach area (Joey) is also very helpful. The location is great but since we are living at Lincoln Subdivision Dinalupihan Bataan, well, technically, it is a bit far from us but if you are living in Olongapo, it's definitely...
Read moreThis is the resort I've been to. It was April 2017 when we booked for an AC room here for one night and a kubo for thr 2nd night.||||It has always been my habit to check all corners of the room whenever I check-in some hotels/resorts. Upon entering the room, I immediately saw the dirty floor and stained walls. It is seemingly an old room that obviously need renovation. It was okay at first but upon checking under the bed, I saw tissue papers (from starbucks) which the first occupant left. I was really disappointed with this. ||||What really bothered us is the broken door lock. We arrived at the resort at 2pm and immediately reported it to their staff at the entrance area. I requested nicely to have it fixed within the afternoon but after an hour, there was still no action so I headed again to their receptionist and reiterated my concern. One male staff (I'm not sure if he's a staff or Supervisor as he was just at the back at first) interrupted my conversation with the female staff. I was told (non verbatim) "Ser, lipat nalang po kayo sa ibang resort kung gusto nyo, ibabalik namin bayad nyo" with an unpleasant tone. I got agitated with the response and requested to have the door fixed instead, it was just a small detail but of utmost importance especially that it's a resort! After an hour, that's the time one of their maintenance personnel arrived, he tried to fix it but the lock is really busted that one can't close the door. The maintenance personnel was nice but he initially advised us that they have their security guard roaming around especially at night and it was okay to not have a door lock. I didn't agree with it and requested again to have even a small lock installed, it was done after 30min.||||They also didn't ask for apology for the inconvenience they have caused us! ||||If there's a negative rating here, I would have given this resort -5. You'll abhor the poor customer service in...
Read moreNow styling itself as "Samba Bluewater Resort", this resort is the equivalent of a blood-sucking parasite. It will bleed you dry - of money, of patience, and of any enjoyment you should be having on your vacation or get-away.||||VALUE FOR MONEY: We booked two Zamba Villas (good for 2 pax) for P3,080. With all extra charges (for beach entrance, for extra people, for the mattress for the extra people, and God knows what else), our final bill amounted to nearly P8,500. It is a beachfront property, and the price is competitive to all the other resorts we've considered. Is it too much to ask to at least have a working shower and TV? Apparently, it is. You can't even use any other facility without asking permission from the manager - even if it's just using an UNOCCUPIED table AT NIGHT to eat your dinner. (On a side note, the curtained cabanas are cute. We had fun taking pictures before a patrolling guard can catch us sitting where we're apparently not supposed to be.)||||STAFF AND MANAGEMENT: They listen. Whether they act is a separate matter entirely. We spent the entire morning with no water in the showers. After a back-and-forth with the staff, we had maintenance checking the water supply, replacing the shower head in one room, giving us a pail to collect water with, etc. etc. We finally had a chance to talk to the manager at night - when there was STILL a water problem. His cure-all solution is to move one group to another room - where there was still a water problem.||||VERDICT: The Filipino word "nagmamaganda" is very apt to describe this resort. Samba has an inflated sense of self-worth; it thinks too highly of itself, valuing itself as more than what it's actually worth. Do not be fooled. Stay for the day if you want - though the beach itself is nothing much to write home about - but I would strongly advise against...
