Booked 4 nights and left after 2.
It started with the pre-schdeuled shuttle pick up service that was confirmed twice via email and once by facebook Not being at the airport for my arrival was a bad start but forgivable.
Straight up, the property is old and poorly maintained. The first impression was less than stellar but I was trying to stay possitive. Check in was easy and handled well. The staff have a good sense of humor but never mentioned any of the available spa services. I was looking forward to a much needed sciatic massage but this isnt available. My error for not askong ahead of time.
The room was more or less as shown in the promotional photos but I must give cudos to the photographer, they've made things look better than realty.
Night one, no resteraunt! Closed for a 100+ person birthday party. Noisy as heck but thankfully that ended at 10pm. We were able to get a couple beverages and escape the noise on the boat next door. This was fithy and entirty disorganized! At this point I startes to laugh at the entire property and knew that I'd be cutting my 4 day stay short.
With the nearest food option being 5km away I was able to request room service. The food was huge surprise and absolutely delicious. If you stay here have the pork knuckle 550php and the seafood pancit 240php. Huge portions and very tasty.
I was told the poor wifi was due to the entire birthday party group haong the wifi password. That was true but the next day and evening there weren't any guests and the wifi still hardly worked. In the room (10) slower than 90's dial-up if it worked at all. From the front check-in desk it works as good as any Phillipines wifi. Sufficient but not capable of streaming.
I gave the key to the front desk and went to town. Upon my return 5 hours later the room had not been serviced and the dishes from the previous nights room service had begun to smell. A quick visit to the front desk and they tool care of the dishes promptly and dropped of some towels.
Tv - 5 chanels all Tagalog Fridge - unplugged on arrival but works very well Air conditioning - Excelent Beach - doesn't a beach Tub - short! Shower - 8/10 Room Cleanliness - 7/10 Property appearance - 5/10 Pool - cloudy 2/10 Location / transportation options 3/10
This property is remote and lacking amenities. Nowhere to get snacks and the tri-motos gouge Mr. White to go anywhere when compared to a local rate. The local rate to town (8.6km) is 25php but the hotel aranged my ride at a rate of 200 to the sm mall. I ended up paying 150 to the mall. After learning the rates I was able to negotiated return trip for a fee of 100 for 2 people and give a 100 tip. (200php or $4 usd)
This place has great potential and could easily be cleaned up and made impressive. As is now, the price should be no more than 800php/ night as found at...
Read moreWe are currently booked at Marina Palawan to celebrate our anniversary as a couple, and it was such a great, relaxing, and breathtaking experience.
The service is excellent! The front desk, staff, and everyone else were so accommodating and granted our requests all with smiles throughout our entire stay. Definitely a 100/10 🤩
The Food – huhu I really love their food! Pork Bicol – 10/10, I personally love the crunchiness 😍 Carbonara – 9/10, super creamy and my partner loved it so much Seafood Buttered Garlic – 8/10, the mussels (tahong) were a bit small, but the taste was really good Breakfast – 10/10, we ordered chicken tocino with egg (tocilog) and banana. Since we don’t drink coffee, they kindly served us Milo instead. Thank you so much!
Activities Pool – 9/10, the pool was stunning! I loved swimming while enjoying the view. Minus 1 point because not all the lights were working at night for night swimming, but overall, super gandaaaaa!
Kayaking – 10/10, thanks to Ate at the front desk who offered this to us (included in our booking). At first, we were hesitant since no one was around in the kayaking area, but thanks also to Kuya who assisted us. It was really nice, though a bit nerve-wracking at first since we thought we might lose balance and fall into the water 😂
Fishing – 9/10, there were so many fish, but they didn’t want to get caught hahaha! I think they knew we were trying to catch them 😂 Still, it was such a fun experience, especially for my partner who loves fishing.
Table/Board Games – 10/10, we really enjoyed this, and they even allowed us to bring the games to our room.
The Room – 9/10, very spacious, clean, and super cold when we checked in. The only downside is there’s no smart TV and the Wi-Fi is weak inside the room.
Transportation – 8/10, it can be a bit difficult to get there for tourists or locals without service since it’s almost 30 minutes from the city proper. Good thing we had our own ride, so it was easy for us.
The Place – 100/10, definitely a hidden gem in Puerto Princesa! You don’t need to travel for hours just to find a peaceful place to relax. It’s perfect if you want to breathe, unwind, and be one with nature.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and it made our anniversary extra special. Thank you so much to all the staff of Marina Palawan. We highly recommend...
Read moreWe booked MDB at Agoda with a discount and we got lucky it was almost half the price, the original and cheapest room around here is 3K. Check their website.||The driver was courteous and approachable, he was willing to wait longer with no qualms. The route was within the city but feels like away from the city, it is located in a strategic place very good for a quick out of the city. Staff are good and even gave us welcome drinks. They do not discriminate between discount-travellers and full-payers. ||The rooms are clean and neat, theres a frosted glass in the shower. They also place foods for sale on rooms where you can eat now and pay later in case you don’t feel like going out with a refrigerator filled with drinks (non-alc and alc). The lightings are good, theres the full-blown bright lights and a romantic dim light. ||The place is serene, silence is beautiful. The infamous boatresto is also good but wasn’t open so I can’t drop an honest review on that. The resto serves food till 10 PM with last call at 9:30. The resto is decorated with paintings that are quite good and pleasing to the eyes. They also have a small infinity pool where you can have a great view of the sea. ||With regards to the food, it was one of the many things I enjoyed there. Delicious. Periodt. ||And who would forget the dinner at the hilltop-type resto where we can see the city lights? It was one of the best. Calling it sweet is an understatement, the view is very nice with very cool air and no noise. Loved it so much.||The staff is easy to talk to and they also dropped us off. The place will be something I would return to if finances allows 😂||Notes: |✔️Palawan has the local niknik that bites and leaves dark marks when scratched so wear pajamas outside.|✔️The pool is in the open field so some insects might share it with you in...
