Avoid this place at all costs!!! – it looks like a tropical eco-retreat, but it feels like a cold, crumbling nightmare.||Don’t be fooled by the word “eco” — this is not a peaceful hideaway. It’s a rundown, soulless guesthouse with zero care for guests and a shocking level of disrespect from the staff. The atmosphere is cold, detached, and deeply unpleasant. No smiles, no service, no kindness — just a clear desire to take your money and give you nothing in return.||When I asked for a towel after swimming (too exhausted to walk back to my room), I was told, “We don’t do that. Go get it yourself.” And when I asked for a manager? Same dismissive response. Later, I asked for help carrying my heavy suitcase up a steep staircase in the middle of the night — they refused and responded with rudeness and arrogance. This is not hospitality — this is humiliation.||And yes, it’s shockingly expensive for what you get — overpriced discomfort, delivered with a sneer.||Now let’s talk about the actual room: It’s incredibly basic, falling apart before your eyes.||The floor creaks, even has holes in it.||Mosquitoes, cockroaches, beetles everywhere.||The mosquito net is hung so low it touches your face while you sleep.||There’s no proper air circulation — the room is stuffy and suffocating.||The fan is so weak it’s basically useless.||No AC. No comfort. No care.||The toilet and shower are outside, exposed and poorly maintained.||And the worst lie? That this place is quiet.||There’s loud music playing from the locals’ speakers all day,|Some kind of party or disco going on in the evenings,|Roosters, dogs, road noise — it never stops.||You won’t sleep here. You won’t relax. You’ll just count the hours until you leave.||I’ve stayed in many remote and rustic places. This is not rustic — it’s neglect, laziness, and indifference, wrapped in a fake “eco” label.||Don’t come here unless you want to be disappointed, disrespected, and bitten by mosquitoes while listening to bad music and barking dogs — all for an...
Read morePro: The one thing that makes this place special is its location and amazing infinity pool with what’s probably the best view in any of Palawan. The view over the palm trees to the ocean is hard to beat. The pool itself is great too. The staff is friendly. Check out until 12 is super convenient.
Things to consider: You know there’s no AC when you book - but they only have one relatively ineffective standing fan, no ceiling fan. It was scorching hot at night, the most uncomfortable night we spent anywhere in the Philippines in a hotel. A ceiling fan would go a long way. The room set up is a bit strange with a total of 4 beds, which means that there’s hardly space for anything. Good for groups and families of course. Hopefully those people get more than 1 fan though … The food in the restaurant was very good - but also incredibly pricey. 600 PHP for a main dish is just touristy to the extreme, especially in this area. You don’t have too much of a choice for dinner though, if you don’t want to drive far … Breakfast does start at 7AM, which is nice, though in reality it means people show up to work at 7 and then still have to prepare everything ;) at least everything is super fresh that way.
Overall quite a few negative points, but the relatively low price of ~50€/night as well as those views from the pool mostly make up for it. I still wouldn’t spend another night here, at least not during a period with hot...
Read moreStayed here last week with my best friend who came from the US just to visit us in Palawan for a short time. I recommended this place since she wanted a nice view, and it was delivered. Our concern was the food and restaurant staff. We ordered chicken inasal and cordon bleu. My chicken inasal was tough, you need to put effort just to slice the chicken, while her cordon bleu was served raw in the middle. We called the waitress's attention quietly to show the food. There were no sorry or anything she just took it and said she will give it back to the kitchen. We thought that they will be serving her a new plate since serving raw food with that high price was really not acceptable. They gave her the same plate where they like double fried here remaining cordon bleu (p.s. she only ate a small portion of the meal). Then again we thought that maybe they will give her something as a service recovery or even a discounted rate for what happened, but nothing was extended -- again, not even an apology. We just looked at each other and went through the night since we don't have any other option. Breakfast came, she ordered french toast and was expecting a real french toast but was served with toasted french bread instead. The place is really nice, such a shame their restaurant cannot...
