This is the place you’ve been dreaming about.
Picture casually waking to a gentle sea breeze flowing up the mountain through the French doors you left open for an overnight airflow. Your eyes softly focus through the mosquito net on the rustic bamboo interior and surrounding handmade wood furniture. Your attention is drawn outside where there are many tropical shades of green and the turquoise blue water of the South China Sea; just at the end of the bed and over the edge of your toes. You remember the flavourful homemade curry made from local ingredients and accompanied by garden chilies from the night before. That chef was on point. You remember the half dozen beers, the upbeat and friendly guests/staff conversations where everyone was just happy to be there and shared their life experiences. Good times. This is a vacation.
Bear in mind this place is isolated and off grid which very much works to its favour and authenticity. You’ll bounce around in a tuk tuk for a half hour on unpaved roads to get here. You’ll then walk with your luggage for 5 minutes up a hill which you’ll be met with a cold drink and smile when you say g’day to Thomas and/or Kasia. All worth it. There is a faster boat option, but it quadruples your walk.
Do yourself a favour and check this place out. See it for what it is and unplug yourself from your normal life and relax. You’ll be well looked after whether you want to island hop, relax in a hammock with a book, lay on the beach or be left to your own devices.
This is one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Dziękuję...
Read moreIf you're looking for an incredible jungle experience, look no further than Green Hill Restaurant and Cottages. My family and I recently stayed here with our two children (8 and 10 years old) and were blown away by the tranquility of the place. The sounds of the jungle were like music to our ears, and the natural beauty of the surroundings was simply breathtaking.
The location is perfect, with White Beach just a 15-minute walk away, and Coconut Beach just a little further. Both beaches are absolutely stunning and well worth a visit.
Tomas, our host, and his staff was absolutely fantastic and went out of their way to ensure that we had an incredible stay. They made us all feel right at home, and we couldn't have asked for a better host.
The food at Green Hill was also top-notch. Everything is prepared fresh, and the menu is incredibly diverse, so there's something for everyone.
However, do listen to the advice that Tomas gives you on how to get to Green Hill. While it may be situated in the middle of the jungle, it's still accessible with a little bit of explanation. We managed to get there with our family, and it was definitely worth it.
Overall, I would highly recommend Green Hill Restaurant and Cottages to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable jungle experience. It's the perfect place to unwind and immerse yourself in the...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 nights on our journey through Palawan. ||It was quite a trek to get to, but we knew this and wanted to be off the tourist trial.||Upon arrival, the ambiance was calm, with Tomasz welcoming and briefing us on practicalities. While not overly friendly, he was perfectly pleasant and helpful. ||We booked a superior bungalow which wasn't exactly "superior". We weren't expecting luxurious by any means but the huts are very basic. Given the location and the lack of rainfall in the Philippines, we often didn't have much water to shower or brush our teeth. We had to time it for when water had been pumped and people were out - the water isn't heated but it was nice and refreshing to have a cold shower in the heat. ||Tomasz arranged a boat tour for us which picked us up a White Beach. This was a great day and would recommend. ||The communal area, with its breathtaking vistas, served as the heart of the resort. The seating could benefit from added comfort, but certainly not a big deal. We met some really nice people here - given the remote location, once darkness falls the guests tend to stay at the hotel ||The food and drinks were tasty and the staff very helpful but not intrusive. ||Overall, it's a sweet spot nestled in the jungle, perfect for some peace and...
