If there's a negative rating here, that's the best reflection of this resort. True, this resort is overpriced. It definitely did not give our money's value. Our relatives spent our reunion here just recently, and although we enjoyed our company so much, we did not enjoy what the resort offered us.
Personnel They are understaffed. They are not attentive to our needs (on all occassions). They need to be reminded again of the things that we requested. We walked from the pavilion to the front desk (quite far) every time we remind them (see succeeding paragraphs). They are not friendly, from manager down to the staff level.
Dormitory A Needs a lot of improvements. Beds are not comfortable. Water pressure is not good also.
Tapay B Needs a lot of improvements. We were unable to sleep well because the aircon is too noisy, perhaps because it's already old or needs fixing. The door to the veranda is broken. The veranda is not nice at all. I suggest the floor should be concrete and should put roof, with tables and chairs, so the guests can lounge in there. The bathroom is big but feels like there are microbes ready to cling onto your body as it is untidy (e.g. tiles). The water pressure is bad also. In the afternoon, we requested for additional mattress (for a fee of P250), but it was only delivered around 10pm despite several follow ups at the front desk. It seems they will not move until their guests are already fuming with anger. There is no telephone as well to connect the room to the front desk.
Free Breakfast for Tapay B guests I ordered in the afternoon our breakfast for the next day. The manager took my order and said it will be ready before 7am. I said it should be ready by then because there is a morning activity and these should be placed at the open restaurant. The next day, I had to follow up three times. They were uncoordinated since the restaurant personnel did not know what our orders were. The breakfast was served late, almost 8am, hence, my family was unable to join our morning activities. The breakfast meals were average, not life changing. I could not relate to those other reviews wherein they praised the food there.
Pavilion There is an open cottage that we initially planned to use and we got it for free upon our request. But since we are a big group, we availed the use of Pavilion (P1,500). The pavilion is old and needs improvements. The light bulb was broken.
Kitchen For a fee of P3,500. It badly needs updating. The refrigerator is not working well. The burner is not modern...
Read moreMe and my friends visited Samal Island so we looked for a place that can accommodate 10 pax. We booked at Punta Del Sol since they have a dormitory that can accommodate us. Unfortunately, we have the most terrible experience.||||Me and my friends aren’t very picky when it comes to our accommodation. However, our dormitory was unexceptionally below standard. The aircon isn’t working properly, imagine ten persons in a room, no electric fan and the AC isn’t properly working. Luckily, the staff lend us a fan (we are very much thankful for this) but I personally think that this still did not suffice our needs. We did not had a comfortable sleep since we only have 1 fan to accommodated 10 people. ||||Another is the restaurant. Nobody told us that they will be closing at 7pm, guests should be informed with these kind of informations upon check-in. When we arrived from our tour, we were surprised that the restaurant is already closed and they can’t serve dinner anymore. Though, we are still seeing customers (mostly foreigners) eating. As mentioned by the staff, they are guests who availed for catering service. Since we are very hungry, my friends decided to buy food outside. Unfortunately again, there was no tricycle outside. Again, luckily enough, a staff from Punta Del Sol helped us (Again, we are thankful for this.) They gave us paper plates and utensils to use for our dinner. When we are about to go back to our room, they served a dinner to a group of four individuals. That got us thinking, was that also a catering service? ||||The next morning, my friends bought coffee. It was served to them in a dispossable cup but others were served in a decent cup. That made us feel discriminated. ||||There’s more to improve in this place. The service should be consistent and should be equal to everyone; both foreigners and local guests. Also, please check the rooms if it is feasible to be occupied before releasing it to your guests. We paid for a cheap accommodation and we are not expecting it to be extravagant. Atleast make it clean and comfortable. ||||And we quote, “baka kaya tayo naka dispossable cup kasi naka...
Read moreLet me break this down for you: ROOMS: We booked 2 rooms for the first night and the second night and I end up getting a third room. The "Sigay" rooms are very small. They end up upgrading us to Taclobo rooms since the resort wasn't busy when we went there. BEACH: What a joke. Very small, rocky and found broken glasses. FOOD: Good but way over priced (take the tricycle outside the resort and tell them to take you to a restaurant. It's a lot cheaper and you get more food.) I bought a bottle of liquor (emperador). I was told the price was 200 pesos but on the menu list, it's 180 pesos. I asked about it and i was told the restaurant price is different from their little store they have on the property? That little store they have is almost connected to the restaurant and was operated by the same people at the restaurant..and the restaurant price is cheaper? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Free breakfast is included with either coffee or juice. I asked for Juice for my son but was told there's no juice. I asked to substitute the coffee with hot chocolate and was told it's ok but when we checked out, they charged us for the hot chocolate. Just be aware of what they charge you, they will sneak in a few here and there. MESSAGE TO THE OWNER (if you are reading this): The staff at front desk left a bad taste in my mouth after she went sneaky on us with adding the cost of the hot chocolate after we agreed that will be taken off the bill. It's not about the amount, but it's the principle. It goes to show what type of people you have working there. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK...
