My family has stayed several times in this hotel that's located right in the heart of Borongan. It's a few steps from the Hamorawon Spring--the reason Borongan became a town. Should read more on that, if you're interested in history. It's also near the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady and the City Hall and City Plaza. There's a restaurant in the ground floor and room rates are usually with complimentary set breakfast--though the choices are somewhat limited. As of this writing, they have not completed the construction of a dipping pool in the penthouse, contrary to what their website states. On most months, except for September which is Fiesta season and the time when a lot of foreigners and balikbayans come home, the rates in this hotel come with a 25% discount. We stayed in the premier, deluxe and junior suite but best value is the premier twin in the upper floors. The premier rooms have access to a balcony and the view of the sunrise is excellent plus you can see the Loom River and the rest of the city from the balcony. The Junior Suite is surprisingly wide and features a bathtub. If you have your own car, you'll find a little difficulty parking during the day because the building also houses a government office in the ground floor and a hardware and bakery are right across the street. Although after 7:00PM these establishments close so you can park across the street and just ask the hotel security guard to keep an eye on your vehicle. The staff a super helpful...
Read moreI stayed here last month (Aug 2018) visiting from the USA. The rooms are a good size with clean bedding. I was impressed the bathrooms look brand new. The bathrooms do not have hot water - we had already experienced this at a resort on Palawan so this is just something to expect in the Philippines. The hotel offers free breakfast your first morning there. Most food at their restaurant was good. My uncle stayed in a different room and his swim trunks went missing after housekeeping cleaned his room. When he asked the man cleaning rooms on his floor about the swim trunks, he gave a very shady answer. I don’t trust their housekeeping so I kept the Do Not Disturb sign on my door the whole trip. Wifi is free, but connection is strongest in the lobby and restaurant. There is also Brewers Best coffee shop around the corner with snacks and free wifi. There is a pool on the rooftop but as of August 2018 it was not open. We went up there to see the view but didn’t see any construction happening. There are a couple nearby public pools with an small entrance fee. Seems like there are only 3 hotels in Borongan, and I’m glad we picked this one. I can’t give 5 stars because of the swim trunks that mysteriously went missing after housekeeping...
Read moreDisclosure: I traveled quite a few and have my piece of hotel horror stories. I am critical when it comes to customer service because my field or work is service oriented. I used to work for Expedia also so I got familiar with the hotel industry.|Staying at Primea Hotel was an experiment for me. I am from Borongan and can basically stay where ver with my relatives. But I decided to give it a shot. My expectations were not that high because I have seen hotels been given 10 stars customer rating but the reality was horrible.|What is amazing about Primea is the eagerness of the employees to help you. You would see, feel and experience Hospitality at its best - genuine! The whole hotel was CLEAN not a speck of dust. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was polished. This is how you define the statement "worth it" and that is when everything works together to give you the comfort. I am not an easy person to please when it comes to hotel, my wife knows that. But staying here... made me...
