A few days before our trip i cancelled my reservation at a resort in Sipaway and just decided on finding a hotel in San Carlos when we got there and we ended up with Palau Hotel as it was the only hotel in Google which looked good.||From the Bus Terminal the hotel is very near. But i just decided to get a tricycle since my travel buddy is already old. It is just P8 pesos a person.||At Palau Hotel i asked for the rates. It is P1050 for a standard room. And good thing is that we can already go inside the room despite it being too early.||The Hotel had an elevator (Contrary to what another Reviewer said that there are no elevators). The Room we got is a Standard Room and for the price it was a big room. It had 2 Single beds it was comfortable but just had 1 pillow (i usually sleep with 4 pillows). They give soap and shampoo but very tiny so bring your own. Room was already cold when we got there as the aircon already turned on. It also had a desk, a 24inch LED TV with clear Reception, a Cabinet, telephone. Bathroom was of good size, Hot/cold Shower, Toilet has no Bidet.||Did not eat at the hotel so i could not comment about their food. Their restaurant is located on the Ground Floor.||Wifi was good but it slowed down night time, probably more people were using Wifi.||Location was excellent. Palau is near the Port, Plaza and Church. 7/11 is nearby.||Check In and Check out was fast. A good choice to stay...

Palau Hotel – A Practical and Pleasant Stay in San Carlos City

Palau Hotel, tucked along Locsin Street in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, offers a comfortable and budget-friendly option for travelers seeking convenience without sacrificing cleanliness or service. With its central location just minutes from the bus terminal, ferry port, and key city spots, it’s a smart choice for both short stays and longer visits.

The rooms are modest but well-maintained, featuring air-conditioning, cable TV, and solar-heated showers. Guests appreciate the quiet ambiance and surprisingly good sleep quality, thanks to clean linens and comfortable beds. The hotel also provides free Wi-Fi, a small fitness area, and family-friendly amenities, making it suitable for solo travelers, couples, and small groups alike.

Service is a standout here—staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating, even allowing early check-ins when possible. The on-site café offers room service and late-night bites at reasonable prices, adding to the convenience factor.

While Palau Hotel doesn’t aim for luxury, it delivers solid value and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s ideal for those who prioritize location, affordability, and a hassle-free experience. Palau Hotel is a nice hotel to consider when you're around San Carlos City area, very accessible from the port and just within the heart of the city where commercial destinations can be walking distance. Well, it's got nice and clean rooms and staff very accommodating. It also has a restaurant at the ground floor and a gym. It also provides function rooms for big events and conferences. Internet access though is hard to get since Wifi connection is not so good. This hotel is just new so maybe the management has something cooking up to improve services but...

The Palau Hotel is a very comfortable place to stay for a vacation with your family. The staff there are very professional, polite and welcoming! This hotel is very, very clean. They also have a place to dine-in right inside the hotel. Which serves, breakfast, lunch and dinner for very low cost! The tricycle's will take you anywhere that you may need to go, for twenty pesos only!! Feel free to tip them and the house keepers 50-100 pesos 🙌👍👌

The rooms are good and the staffs are kind. but the room necessities and toiletries weren’t properly clean and dirty!! - the thermos still had coffee from the previous user and wasn’t cleaned and sterilized from the staff - their towels still had food and had a lipstick stain - their beddings were ripped and the side of their bed was VERY dusty - their tissue was very dirty and had stains (didn’t have pic because we threw it away)

Every morning my parents have breakfast in this lovely place. Let me tell you not only is their hotel one of the cleanest hotels I have been too, but their quaint, lovely restaurant has one of the best dishes that I've ever tasted in my life. Make sure to get their Ralph's burger, or Bam-i, or Honey Garlic chicken wings when you drop by. DELICIOUS (at such affordable price).
