Atmosphere - I love how cozy the whole place is. We were greeted with smiles. They have a pool & beach access downstairs. We saw a bunch of turtles & eels while we were there. It was such a great experience.
Food - They have basic menu (which is good cus its easy to keep up with) and we enjoyed every food we ordered here. Mark is such an amazing cook! I highly recommend their hamburger. It’s juicy, well-seasoned & has good thick patty & crispy fries with it. They also have my fave grilled cheese sandwich just the way I like it at home. I also enjoyed their Piña Colada which is not too sweet & not too alcoholic for my personal taste.
Tip: Let them know ahead of time if you wish to eat at certain time. They are good serving the food on time 😊
Rooms - when we got in to our room, we are very impressed how clean it is and they already turned on the aircon (split type aircon 😌✨) so we can be comfortable right away. I love how there’s a lot of extra toilet paper in the room & it’s a good quality toilet paper & not the very thin ones. The room has closet/drawers to put your stuff which I really like cus I don’t like it when everything’s on the floor or squished in a small table. They also provided several good hangers as well. Also, I appreciate how they use big jar glass for the water (you can refill it downstairs) in the room & not the mineral water you can buy from the store. Less waste 🥳 and the coffee packets & teaspoons are in the airtight container so no ants trying to steal it 😅
Parking - they have free parking but it is limited.
Location - the resort is 10minutes away from Liloan Port. There’s a couple of decent restaurants nearby too. It’s right on the side of the national highway so there are buses that you can take if you’re commuting.
Owner & staff - The staff are wonderful. They are very accommodating & helpful to us esp the owners they made our stay easy peasy & fun. They are also knowledgeable about the area. Mark & Kathryn did a great job with their place (a true hidden gem) & such wonderful hosts! 🤍
We can’t wait to go...
Read moreHIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We absolutely loved our stay!
The hosts: Mark and K were super hospitable and gracious. Mark is an excellent cook and the couple work together to keep the place clean and pristine. It’s not a super resort with loads of staff to wait on you. It’s a very thoughtfully run hotel by this lovely couple and their small team of very helpful staff. Being highly skilled scuba divers themselves, they know the area well and were able to take us to THE best sites even though the weather was not very cooperative at the time.
The dives: Every dive we did was AMAZING. Every reef we went to in Santander was teeming with life - thousands of fish, giant turtles, and a variety of critters for macro. Good company too! Our guide, Liane, was very pro and very knowledgeable with the various sites. We met a lot of wonderful friends. There is a lovely dive community in Santander.
Our room: SUPER CLEAN and very spacious. We’re glad we got the big one. We used the extra bed for our cameras and other gear. We had all the basic stuff: fridge, microwave (which we never used), utensils and glassware, water heater, etc + abundant drinking water. Nice comfy bed. Soft, plump pillows. Sometimes, we heard if there was a huge truck that passed by but it wasn’t loud enough to bother our sleep. Most of the resorts in Santander are the same - situated between the highway and the ocean.
The facilities: The pool is just the right size for a leisurely swim…with a gorgeous view - very clean and well-maintained. The garden is loaded with local plants - lots of greens and trees. We didn’t get to use the dive shop becoz our dives were not in front of the property due to the wind conditions. But the ones we went to were awesome. WiFi was good! The food pricing is quite reasonable and definitely worth it. (Try the pulled pork!)
Lots of reasons to come back - to explore the house reef during the summer - MORE DIVES and more of Mark’s cooking! And more time to enjoy the company of the beautiful people...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Masayahin!!! From the moment I arrived, Mark and Kay, the owners, made me feel like family. Their hospitality is unmatched—they truly go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect.
The rooms are cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with the softest linens that guarantee a restful sleep. Room #7, where I stayed, has sunset views that are nothing short of breathtaking. Watching the sun dip below was the highlight of each evening.
For divers, this place is a paradise. Mark and Kay were instrumental in helping me achieve my PADI Open Water diving certification. They coordinated with a dive instructor, provided access to their pool for training, and arranged dives right off their back door into a magical underwater world filled with sea turtles and vibrant marine life.
Beyond diving, they also helped me explore the area, arranging scooter rentals and organizing a trip to some stunning nearby waterfalls. Bring your swimsuit and water shoes and go to Dao Falls. Magic!!
The small on-site restaurant is a hidden treasure in itself. Every dish was absolutely delicious, made with care and featuring fresh, local ingredients. I looked forward to every meal, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
This hotel is the perfect blend of relaxation, comfort, adventure, and warm hospitality. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible diving, stunning sunsets, and the best hosts you could ask for, look no further. I can’t...
