We stayed at this lovely homestay in Siquijor, which we found on Booking.com with high ratings. While most activities on the island are centered around the San Juan area, accommodations there tend to be pricier or not listed online. This place was a hidden gem — everything was great except for the location, which is quite remote. It takes about 17 minutes to ride a scooter to San Juan. Since Siquijor is still a very raw and natural island, there are no streetlights in some areas, so driving at night can be dark and a bit tricky if you’re not confident with a scooter. But the upside? It’s incredibly peaceful. With no commercial noise nearby, you can hear the wind and enjoy a star-filled night sky — pure serenity. The property itself has a wide open grassy lawn, perfect for a breezy walk or sitting out in the evening. We stayed in a fan-only wooden hut — no aircon, but two strong fans kept it cool enough even in May. Nights were actually refreshingly breezy. Breakfast was simple but delicious — always served with fresh fruits like mango, banana, and watermelon. Since there are no restaurants nearby, we had breakfast at the homestay every day. The staff were kind, helpful, and even provided a lovely guidebook with food and activity recommendations around the island. They also helped us arrange motorbike rentals. If you’re looking for quiet, nature, and a cozy local vibe, and you don’t mind being a little far from the main tourist area, this homestay is a perfect choice. Definitely recommended.

the cottages are very well built, super clean and you have all you need! staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great (loved the homemade yoghurtđŸ™đŸŒâ™„ïž). theres a lot of space all arround, the trees&bushes still seem young, when they will be bigger it will be even more beautiful! It‘s 10Mins from the Pier and about 20Mins to San Juan. Nights can get a bit noisy with Animals arround - but they offer earplugs:)

Kahoy Cottages is a fantastic place to stay! The accommodation is spotless, with a very comfortable bed and a private outdoor bathroom that adds a unique touch. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. It's a perfect place to unwind and relax. I highly recommend having a scooter, which they can assist you with renting, as it makes exploring nearby areas much easier. The Marine Sanctuary is just a 10-minute walk away, and it's peaceful and not crowded at all. Snorkeling with a guide there was an amazing experience — they take you to some of the best spots on the reef. Definitely a must-stay if you're...

We had an awesome stay at Kahoy Cottages during our trip to Siquijor. The hosts were very welcoming, lovely people. They helped us organise a scooter for our stay here along with helping us with recommendations on food and drinks and activities.

The cottages we stayed in were very cute. The bed was super comfy and we loved the outdoor shower. The induction kit was really helpful for things to do on the island also.

We’ve already planned our next trip to the Philippines in 2025 and will be coming back here for sure.

Thanks Kahoy Cottages for the...
